• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I've been riding with a buddy of mine for over 15 years,he is a Honda lifer(650R,450X,Montesa.etc,etc..). He has been giving me sh#t for selling my old CRF and getting a Husky for the last couple of years I've had my TE. Throughout the few years of owning my Husky,we've been on some epic rides where his 650 would break something, and his Honda would be his let us down. I would stab him back "That Honda doesn't look fun, should of got a Husky instead huh !"His response would be F that euro trash....he called me tonight saying he made full circle. Blown away with how reliable my Husky has been with all the crap we've ridden through. Well he just picked up a new 2010 te 310. :applause:

Your friend bought a Husqvarna bike

The title of this thread had me a little worried something bad may have happened. I am glad that is not the case. :)

Woo-hoo! Bringing them into the fold

I just spent a week in the Nevada desert with my buddy on a TE610 and my other buddy on his plated WR400 (owned since new.) The WR owner had to bail out on an epic 200-mile'r on the last day due to bike troubles and now wants me to keep an eye out for a good deal on a 610 for him:)

i read loads of bottom end bearing issues on the 510 and the horrific telephone numbered bill people got to repair (or replace motor)... mine has taken a ragging and then some.. i hope its just all been husky bashing and no real issue...seems to go great and 4yr old , only issue is it likes oil changed every 200 miles or gear selector starts to feel notchy.. change oil and nught and day difference... other than that, i love the husky !

If my bike broke I'd say so. I know of at least 1 te250 that went 5k+ miles, and 1 te510 that went 10k+ miles. Lost track of those bikes for the time being.

I do believe it is a forum thing in some ways, but I've seen interesting pictures on that Australian dirt bike forum at one time of broken things - and on this forum, and TT, and everywhere else.

I think how that information is perceived is sorta forum dependent.

Boy, you better hope that bike holds up & the first few thousand are trouble free or are you gonna get an earfull!

My 07 is well over 420 hrs and 11,xxx miles.
and I positive I will hear it all IF anything breaks.

About sixs moths ago we had no Huskys and had only even seen 2 left over 07 /06 TE250's at the dealership. Now we have three an 08 CR125, 09 TXC510, and my son's 2010 TC250. I can honestly say the Huskys just feel right when riding them and we LOVE um! Sometimes it takes a bike breaking on you to convert you and sometime it's just the look that gets you to take that first step. All I can say is I am glad we did. Good luck to your friend and his new Husky.

Ya like Coffee i thought that you were going to tell us that Mr. Honda had passed away!

Luckily he has been born again by seeing the light and buying a quality Euro bike.

Go Husky

I have not converted anyone to the Husky fold yet. Being able to go to a dealer & see them 1st hand would help but we don't have one nearby but I am still working on them.

My brother and our mutual best mate have been one eyed KTM owners for years. of course they also give me heaps, mostly about my stock exhaust sounding like a sewing machine. I have always been able to out gun them in a drag (each have 450's) and I am at least 10 kgs heavier. Long story short my little brother bought a run out 09 TE 310 in October and loves it. He is in his 50's, and wanted something that handles a tad easier in the tight stuff. Well talk about a convert. I must admit the 310 is a cracker of a machine, it has more punch than I thought and is ideal for him. I would love a 350 for my size etc.
Any way its a resounding success to get someone to move from a major meat and potato brand to something a little more exotic.

Yep my son is selling his two KTM's and keeping the 2010 TC250 I got for him. On the exotic topic we stll have the only 3 Huskys in our riding circles. We do have a friend that is selling his 07 Honda 450R to get himself a 2010 TC250.

He also has a hound dog named "Honda", he'll have to rename him "Husky".

 Poor pup will be confused!

BTW - you should be able to change the title of this thread if you want, one of the features of this site.
