• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The New Factory Husky WINS first Race in the USA

Not to be a total party crasher, but Jacob won by default on this one. Gary had a 3 minute lead over Jacob. Had he remembered to replace his faulty radiator cap the night before, he would not of DNF. Jacob is fast and has many more races to prove himself.

Too bad on the radiator cap saga but about every race has a story like this. Record books just do not store this type of data ... Just the winners go in it ...

Won't need a row boat i'll be jumping right back to a jap ship where life is cheaper. And by me saying too bad it wasn't actually a husky, i simply meant that i would have loved to see the original husky do it. I bought one because of their history. I didn't realize how much has changed! After i bought the bike things started going very wrong! I ended up on this sight and found that a few others had the same issues, then to top it all of friggin ktm buys husky!!! I don't hate ktm's, but i run into a-lot of ktm riders who swear there is nothing else better and treat me like i'm an idiot for not owning one! I like my husky but i miss my jap bikes light slim feel and dime a dozen parts on ebay and cheap top ends. Sorry if i sounded harsh didn't mean it that way.
Cant argue with your logic. I started riding dirtbike in 2004 so I dont have much history to compare to but I do study alot about older bikes. That being said, Ive had my fair share of Japanese bikes, as well as German, Italian, Austrian, etc. Japanese bikes are easier and cheaper to get parts for, thats for sure! I kind of knew going in to it with the Husky that A, its gonna be quirky, and B, its not gonna be the superstar bike out there; one that I would see on Speed channel with a number 7 on it.
Nevertheless, I love Huskys. Not sure if I'll buy a new KTM Husky cuz I have owned and ridden other KTMs and they didnt blow me away. I think a Beta 300 is next for me.

Duuuude :excuseme:
I'm a huge fan of dirt bikes and of the PEOPLE involved in the 'new' bikes like Jefferson and outfits involved with the brand like Zip-Ty .... buuuut every part on the bikes is really KTM. If I buy the CocaCola name and put it on a can of Pepsi .... that don't really turn Pepsi into CocaCola.
I'm happy with the success - and the mere mention of the Husky name on the Supercross broadcast - just wish I didn't know it's really just Pepsi in a CocaCola can. :oldman:

Yay!!! Someone gets it.

Yay!!! Someone gets it.

Lots of us do. Some choose to just follow the sticker. Which for many will be great as I'm sure the new "huskys" are going to be very good bikes just like the KTM's are. We simply have one less (entire line of bikes) choice now.

Both Jacob and Gary are friends of mine, both sponsored by us. Either way I am happy we won. I asked Gary; "Hey, is that XF steaming out of your radiator?!? We both knew that XF doesn't steam. I figured since he gives me shit all the time, it was payback.

So, what is Sutherlin riding this year anyway?

Just a different slant...but if HusaKTM's with Husky stickers are winning, then there's gonna be little motivation to actually create a truly different bike like some are hoping for. :excuseme:

I'm shocked that threads still get turned into a sob fest over Swedish, Italian, Austrian Husky. (Germans always get the shaft!:lol:jk)

Jump ship or stay with the name, but come on, Adults, let's get over it. Already. Please. Pretty Please. With Italian Husky parts sprinkled on top.

you guys a still cracking me up.

and my question got answered Sutherlin did have XF (evans) in his rads, he was just leaking it all over the hot pipe and engine....
