• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The man who resides in Poulsbo, WA (spoiler)

Good luck to DM18 and RD5 in their battle for 2nd place overall in LV next week ... two very deserving riders of this finishing place ...

Wait a second, how can you defend an indoor title outdoors?

Definitely the best indoors, although it seemed more competitive this year.

If you watched many of the races, there was only ~2 racers that came from off the pace and had the speed to pass the field and walk up into the leaders .. RV2 and RD5 ... Everyone else got the hole shot (or something close) and could win in that manner ...Not that this is a trivial thing to do but it does show who has the talent to do such a feat ...

It's really interesting as the same thing happens in the small time racing I'm doing now .. Get the hole shot and your odds for finishing in the top are greatly increased ... Seems racing is just racing ...

--

DM18 made the racing interesting along with JB51 & TC41 ... Other than that, it was the RV2 show again .. With that said, some of the racing in the top 8 or so was pretty cool ... There are several very good racers here ...

The kid is just God %$^&$ fast!!! But, if I were him, I'd fire my barber.

The Mrs. is pissed, however. She wants more parody in the 450 class (She's a Dungey fan now that KDub has retired). Don't blame her on the pardy issue one bit.

I would say that some folks up the 15 & 215 freeways in Menifee, CA might be claiming RV1 as their own right about now.

Parody is always good ... Guys riding in the 3rd-7th places were doing some pretty good racing during the yr ...TC41 and JB51 are the new comers and lets hope the outdoors goes well ... And DM18 is there also ...

A little off topic, but the big surprise to me was Roczen screwing it up!!! Well, not him, but he got caught up in the mess, and now he has some work to do next weekend to NOT give it away... Had he won that race, he could of wrapped up the title with Tomac finishing 5th or 6th...

Anyways, congrats to RV, as he was FAST as a MO-FO this year!

I never watch the 250 guys but I'll go back and see what happened there with Roczen ... He does well in the MXdN racing and another one that should step into the 450s ....

Just watch the heat race and LCQ.... He was 20 points up, but didn't make the main. MAJOR SETBACK...

Just wondering why you don't watch the 250's? i think the 250's are more exciting to watch than the 450's but thats only my opinion.
Some of the LCQ's in the 250's this year have been awesome to watch!

No real reason other than they are not the top class ...

Yep, I've probably missing alot of good racing as the 250 guys maybe the worlds' best at this size bike ...

wowo ... I just watched ROC in both his races ... that heat race was a rough one for him for sure AND that LCQ was a rough start ..KR94 came outta the LCQ crash like a rocket!

That was really a cool finish when M. Stew blew that other rider away in the whoops and over the finish line ... That's racing!

It was an eventful race that's for sure!
What I saw was two kids learning their race craft, and both of them would have learnt a LOT from that SX round, that is going to make them better racers as they go through their careers, they would have learnt more from the disastrous round they both had, than if they just continued on their winning ways and weren't faced with adversity.
I'm a Tomac fan and I hope Eli has the ride of his career and wins the championship in Vegas. Go Eli!!

I'll have to watch this for along with the 450 guys ... Maybe both of them will race the 450s shortly ...

This 450 main was no slouch ...DM18 is not stopping till the last race is over .. RD5 looks like he has his hands full with this guy ..

The 450 main was one of the best races of the season! Hats off to Villopoto for 3 championships in a row and earning legend status, he is an incredible rider and I think he might break quite a few records!
DM18's race was his best ever, to hang onto Villapotos rear wheel for the whole race and to be so fast through the whoops proves that he is now a championship contender, and I hope he takes his form to the outdoors, I'd love to see him win a championship.
If Dungey was more aggressive I think he would be fighting with Villapoto every weekend, but I love his riding style.

You might see Tomac in the 450 class sooner rather than later as he has a few teams chasing his services.

Im not sure whats going on with Roczen, but I think he has a couple more seasons in the lites class.

I always watch the 250's, some great racing! Roczen threw it away when he pulled off in the heat race, needs a little more maturity. Had he kept going he probably would have qualified or atleast got a better gate pick for the LCQ and avoided the first turn crash.

I am amazed at the high level the 450 riders are at, the top three went so hard for 20 laps and none ever made a mistake. Just a few years ago each would have fallen atleast once.
The difference in this championship is Villo got consistent starts all season except for the first round, and dungey was coming from behind, and Villo is too good for that. The exception was Salt lake, Dungey got the start, but Villo charged before Dungey really got up to speed, it takes him 3-5 laps to really get going. I like that he always finishes strong!
I don't see Villo staying around a lot of years, he has his championships, money, so hard to keep up that intensity.

That's an interesting article... ESP with RCH and Kawi in the mix ...And RD5 has been battling RV2 for yrs now ... He just can't win a championship with RV2 around ...

That did look weird when Roczen left the heat race early ...

Those 450 guys chewed that small twisty track up and spit it out ... Really amazing the speed they were carrying on that tight course ..

In two yrs or even less, I would not be surprised to see RV2 move on ... He's done it all including the monster $ MIL and has some big injuries in the past ...

Me and the kid were at A1. RV1 dumped in almost every turn that night. We were sure he wasn't gonna be close this season, but we were sooooooooooooo wrong.

Oh, and having lived in Menifee for along time (which is also home to Jake Canada and Scott Champion), I'm gonna claim RV.

Probably issues with the airforks but we'll never know for sure or know what the fix was ... I'm guessing he's still running air up front and I've read when some of the honda guys(?) are still on the air forks ...RV2 has never been beaten by any of these 450 riders except for maybe some 250 crown ... He's got that extra gear he uses as needed to win races and then just pulls back on the pace as needed to keep it on 2 wheels ... Something js7 never mastered or even attempted till now? ..

RV2 is a resident in a small WA town and I still have property there, so he's a homeboy to me ...
