• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

enjoy......

Nice stuff, Mr. Ace! I totally dig the Johnny Cash, too

Don't care much for the rocks, do ya, Ace? :D

Is that your Spot I see bouncing around on the rear? I don't know nuthin' `bout nuthin', but if it were me I'd mount that thing to my person somehow. I'd hate to have to crawl back to the bike some 20 yards down the trail with a broken femur, or whatever...

Keep `em coming!

Oh, and another thing: If you'd load that thing up and truck it up here to NorCal you wouldn't have to ride alone :)

Hey Lady... how are ya???? Glad you like the clips.... You Tube blocked the song on one, and naturally that was MY favorite one.... Rocks??? Well I am alone.... better safe than sorry, I don't want a flat or a "get off", it may scratch the bike**************************************** The SPOT is double clipped on. I have the stretchy thingys that are sewn to the pack tied around it, and I drilled a hole in the clip part and put a metal clip thingy on it along with a round key ring thingy attatched to the strecthy strings, so it simply cannot come off. If the back pack is with me, the SPOT is with me....
Yes loading up and going up there sometime is an option, and I could work you guys into the movie story line........

Happy trails....

 Right on! I always wanted to be a movie star!

You sure got a lot of thingys on that Spot :D Sounds pretty secure. I wasn't thrilled with the attachment situation ( or lack thereof) when I got mine, that's for sure. I think the 2nd generation one is supposed to be set up better. I guess my point was I wouldn't want it attached to something on the bike, I'd want it attached to me personally. If I fell and hurt myself, I wouldn't want to have to crawl back to the bike in order to activate it.

The mountains are clearing of snow as I type and there is a ton of fantastic dualsporting opportunity up there. Let's do it!

Oh... I see what you mean about the SPOT. Were back to the crashing part, and it could end up separated from the operator, true, anything can happen in a crash, it could cause undo injury if it's on your person too. I had a cell phone bruise my ribs once but no other injury at all. I try to put in 110% effort not to crash.... it always scratches up the bike**************************************** and that simply is not an option........

Happy Trails.....

BTW..... Don't forget to keep an eye out for "Lonerider" no tellin' where he'll turn up next.....
