  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The JD Power Surge 6X Tuner is...

Husqvarna

... the REAL thing. Get one at current prices ASAP before JD realizes what he's got and raises prices.

This thing has transformed my TE 449 into a scary monster. I never imagined my 449 had this much power lurking within.

I was completely satified with my bike before installing the JD Tuner.
After installing the JD Tuner I've been in a constant state of ejaculitis!

I'm sicking of hearing how great this product is. Okay, not really. But I am sick of waiting for mine to arrive! :)

It'll probably get held up at the border, as well. Hopefully it'll be here in time for riding next weekend.

Glad you're enjoying yours!

We have them in stock if you get sick of waiting. Same as US price with no shipping charges.

Scott, I would have ordered it through you, but another site had it for $199 and also sent me a 10% off birthday coupon, which pretty much covered the shipping.

On another note, if you can get me Sidi Crossfire TAs for the US price, I'd be all over that. LMK. My local shop couldn't even get a listing for them. Same with Rekluse products. Not even available through their distributor.

+1 The JD Tuner along with the FMF Muffler has really transformed mine as well. I'm still having the stalling issues, though
and it always seems to happen at the worst possible moment. See approx. 3.00 minute mark of this clip taken yesterday.

Just got a new 2011 TE 250 and am going to order the JD. What is the install process like? Does it have to be dealer installed? Should I wait until my bike ( 12 miles ) is broken in slowly? Thanks

Just order one from motosportz and put it on yourself. It is easy to do and you will learn a little about your bike. You can also get great information on here.

Here's a post by Kelly describing the TPS reset procedure which may solve your flameout issue. http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/ez...fi-and-tps-on-a-511-449-good-info-here.18352/

This is attracting a lot of interest, could Motosportz, or one of you guys post up a dedicated thread explaining the install, process, does it have factory settings, and is it detachable once its set up, its a lot of hp for $, but theres a few of us who lack mechanical knowledge and need a little explaining. Does it come with a bar mount, regarding the settings is it the push of a button from one to another to cope with wheather/riding conditions open fast or slow woods etc...Some pictures of the process would be good.

yes, it´s that easy to install (if I can do it, anyone can). And it´s just a matter of hitting a button and watching the LEDs show you what it´s doing. The short list of instructions that come with the set is sufficient. It´s got a velcro backing but bar mounting should be easy (as long as it doesn´t get wet). What is does has the same effect as re-jetting a carb had on bikes of yesteryear.

its been explained many times in these threads but I will do that here in a bit. Super EZ to install. then tune to taste. Good instructions, EZ to get good results, hard to mess anything up.

Very EZ to install. Just need to find the wire to the injector and plug it in there.

.....and on my 511 this was the hard part since there are a half dozen connections around the fuel injection and throttle body. The correct one is hardest to reach and connecting was a bit tricky. I suspect other models vary on this part. From there it was a piece of cake .... and the results were sweet. 3rd gear roll on from near standstill, strong acceleration, great throttle response. On a rough hard packed course that everyone complained was skatey I felt in complete control ....

Now I gotta get a 6X for my TE250 ... great stuff...

does this compromise reliability, are you likely to overtune it and damage the engine?
Once plugged in does this leave a lead at the bars that can be plugged unplugged to the unit.

Same experience with my 449. Getting it plugged up to the injector was tricky due to all the interferences. The rest is easy.

You're just adding/removing fuel to the system. As long as you don't go to extremes, I don't see how it would harm reliability of the engine at all.
