• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The Chrome Wears Off Frome My Inner Forktube! (second Time)

Lime

Husqvarna
A Class
I hade a problem on my front fork, the chrome pealed of and I didn’t understand why. So I bought a new pair of used forks on ebay.
The only thing I took from my new fork was the inner fork tube. The rest of the parts I took from my old forks. Including the Teflon bushings (is that the right word?)
After one hour off riding the chrome has pealed of from my new inner forktube to. So now I wonder why this happened.
I noticed that some of the Teflon on the Teflon bushing is missing and there is a scratch in it. You can se the brass at some places. Can this be the source of the problem?
Is this the right place fore this tread? I noticed that I hade put it in "common topics". I ride a Wr 250 from 2006 so maby it shuld be in the 2 stroke forum?

Maybe the buskong needs replacing. What concerns me is the time factor, I suggest you look at the fork alignment. Maybe the worn bushing is predisposing to wear on the leg due to possibly having the front axel out of alignment

And how do i check if the fork or the front axel are out of aligment.

Ore in other words: How do I check så that everything is straight and not gay :LoL

Yes that is childish... :)
