  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The 449's New Clothes

310huskyTE

Husqvarna
Pro Class
After 1 year and 3000 hard kilometers, i though i'd treat my 449 to a bit of a freshen up!!
I ordered a full custom graphics kit from ringmaster images here in Melbourne, she also got a new black front guard, and a black rear guard for a TC, 49 tooth stealth rear sprocket, new 15 tooth front sprocket and a gold DID X-ring chain and while i was at it i also greased the swing arm linkages and bearings.
This bike has been flawless and hasn't missed a beat, and handles everything i can throw at it with ease.
I also had some work done to the rear shock by Krooze Tune Suspension, so now it will have some rebound:banana:
This would be the best bike i have ever owned!

mate that looks unreal, i love it. im in the middle of trying to figure out what grafics kit i want for my 2012 te 449, the only other one i have seen that i like is the ADB bike with the brett kenney kit on it. do u mind me asking what ringmaster charge for their kits?

ime on 14/51 spot on-tried 13 but was flat out at 50mph 14 is real good stops stalling at real low rpm just when you really dont want it.

That really looks hot. I will have to do some thing with mine now. I really think the sprocket and chain finishes it off.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
It seems i jinxed myself by putting this post up the day before going riding! For the first time my 449 left me stranded!!
Luckily for me i has only gone 1.5km before the bike died, it seemed like an electrical problem and after a few minutes it was determined that the battery had died and it didn't have enough power to crank the motor over.
Embarrasingly it was towed back to the cars by a 1998 KDX200, i loaded up and headed home while the rest of the boys kept riding.
On the way home i stopped at my local Husky dealer and bought a Shorai Lithium Ion battery. When i got home i dropped the new battery into the 449, pressed the start button and she fired into life straight away!!
On the down side i missed out on a days riding with a mate who was having his first ride on his brand new 2012 TE310, but on the plus side my bike just lost 1.5kg's and i can go riding with another group of mates tomorrow!

did you try bump starting it? If it had enough to run the pump it should have started.

It did bump start, but then when the bike was turned off there wasn't enough power to start the bike with the button, and i wasn't going to bump start the bike all day or potentially cause delays or ruin the ride for the other 11 guys on the ride

You said it stranded you and you had to be towed out. I was wondering if it could not have been bump started and rode out.

I probably should have been a bit clearer, it had to be towed out of where it was because there was no way of bump starting it, but once back at the cars i was able to bump start it.

Ringmaster charge $380 for a full custom kit, or $300 for a standard kit. The fit and quality of their kits is awesome!!
If your in Melbourne Firstclass Motorcycles in Lilydale might have on of those kits from ADB still in stock

WOW !! That looks absolutely amazing. So the heat shield on the exhaust is from Pirie ? You've only had your bike for a year and already rec'd
your order? No, just kidding. That's was a little harsh. I think it took about two months to get my skid plate but it is top notch and extremely light.
Sweet lookin' bike, mate.
