• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I've been closed minded about this Pierre take over and it hasn't changed..probably won't until more separation from the evil step child ktm comes to light...anyway.. I have various parts that have been on back-order for over 6 months and I'm now hearing(true or not) that ktm will not be supported parts for early 2000 bikes....ok they're old but just for the sake of argument (no I don't mean I want to argue really)...why are parts that were available or should I say "interchangeable" for 10-14 year old models or were listed in over 150 applications and are considered wear items that need to keep bike mechanically safe to operate,being discontinued? There is a point,understandably,that you "gotta let go "of inventory for older vehicles but really ,a part that fit an '06 all the way up to '14 ! Of course I have had an item or 2 on back-order before, but only 3 weeks...and if I searched enough I could of gotten it from Europe or Australia faster. Internet is a great thing but I'm honestly 'bout to put my fist through this screen! I really don't know how computer data entry processor deal with being in front of screen for so long! Rant done.... Hello, SWM, could you get me some ITALIAN Husky parts,please!
 
Yep, 6+ month wait means someone hasn't got their shit together. If a part is available there should be no reason it shouldn't be available to your door in 2 weeks!
If it's discontinued then you should know about it straight away instead of being lead on for months.
They have had long enough to organise themselves.
 
They don't give a sheeite. Time to start thinking about looking for bikes with blown motors. I started looking for parts for my 84 IT and guys on ebay wanted some fairly high prices. That's when I scored a whole bike for $350. I figure other than gaskets seals and pistons, I'm golden for years.
 
Like Norman said BMW was already dropping the 02' parts so don't act like this is out of no where.... You know why they were dropping them? There plain and simple is not a lot of these bikes out there.... KTM is a FOR PROFIT business, if there was money to be made then they would be making them... Go to a Jap place and try and find some 15 year old parts.... the big 4 started phasing that stuff out about 3-4 years ago....
 
..dropping parts would make sense with limited model production bikes over a specific time table, if it contained a lot of one off parts but Husky had hundreds of parts interchangeable from low sale/produced bikes to some of their best sellers...look at the rear brake pedal from my 07 WR125,it matches with my '10 TC250, '13 TXC 310 and my new project, '09 SM450r. Here's an item that easily could be bent,damaged whatever and that's on back order. That little adjustable pin above the swivel that connects to rear pedal...swivels available ,the adjuster -NOT...even bought the ktm adjusterpin ,same thread ,same master cylinder but about 12mm short...I've got so many emails out to dealers un-answered,un-returned phone calls and I have only one dealer who is bending over backwards to help and is trying to get answers. I keep playing that picture of the new Husqvarna headquarters were it displays many old Swedish Huskies and newer ktm/Huskys but NO Cagiva/BMW era bikes..and whether or not the new owners want to admit it,but most of Husky's championships came on the Italian bikes...and that just doesn't sit well with me..give credit were credit is do....

they are probably trying to play up the swede heritage since thats the original company...the italians did the same thing, they cloned their 2 stroke cagivas to look like 87-88 swede bikes at first too..it is a bit bizarre that the entire italian history is deleted but its something we need to get used to. italian husky is done much like the swede husky was done back then. the italians never did get their own burleson to rattle off a streak like he did either...
i love my italian bike but i have an easier time getting parts for my swedes than i do it...
 
Oh I must be mistaken..... You guys forget how AWESOME Husky was way back..... way better than Italian Husky had NO MX titles and what 4-5 Enduro titles?

lots of the ones listed are Castiglioni Giovanni Varese (Cagiva) built reengineered 4Ts (of course based on the original Swede 510 engine and chassis design) along with many Cagiva Husqvarna 2Ts (all the 90's)

example Chicco's 125 was 100% Cagiva from top to bottom, zero Swede except in name. same for all the 1990's 125 and 250 2 stroke titles. One can argue that the Cagiva Husky 4ts were Swede based and I agree from the base only. from 88 on they were re and re and reengineered by the Cagiva engineers into the Multi time big single cammer championship machines of Martens, Tiainen, Ericksson and others. All those were Italian built. They took that original Swede Husky design they bought and perfected it through top tier racing programs.
Just like Husaberg ex Husky team guys did while keeping the project continuation in Sweden.
 
Yup. I agree with OP. I'm trying to find a cylinder for my 2009 WR. Nothing available in the states. Everything is on back order with no ETA. Sux. I have a non-functional seven year old bike that I can't fix. I could buy the used motor I found on ebay for $2,999. But I could also buy a complete bike for about the same... If I could find one. But why would I buy a non-supported bike? Arg.
 
Don't Athena do a cylinder for em? Non repairable?

But yeah it sux I agree won't get bugger all for sellin mine now mite as well keep em!

I to have a older husky that one day I will have to find parts for. I just have one question? Do you really believe if Pierre would not of bought Husqvarna you would have a easier time finding parts? Sorry but thats just not so and heres why. There would be no Husky period! zilch, nada, gone. So you still would not have any parts, might even be worse than it is now. I have said this before you want to blame someone blame BMW. Llike Race and Norman said BMW were already dumping parts. BMW basically gave up when the GS platform did not take. So they tried again by wrapping it up in husky colors, that failed also. Result white KTM huskies.
