• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks Dean and Thanks to all the Vintage Husky Drivers...

I remember when Dean first contacted me after I had first started the Vintage 1970's and 1980 Parts Source thread without any support on TT.... (I am member #6 here on CH)

Not having much experience with any of this, or even with Husqvarna in general, Dean gave me a wide open Canvas and a big can of Vintage multicolor paint.... and let me have loose on here....

Today that Thread has been viewed 11,795 times

Thank you Dean and thanks to all of you for helping make this one of if not the most viewed Vintage Husqvarna Website in the world....thanks to each and everyone of you for contributing each and every Vintage post and keeping this one of the most respected, courteous and professional sites on the Internet.

The way you all help each other out and treat other members makes this sight truly unique!

Thanks T for all the hard work you did, but I see your losing it ;). Look at post #52 & #54 :p
I would hate to think how many times I viewed that thread.

You are quite welcome. :)

The only problem is, you need to thank yourselves, you did all the work.

I have been working on some ideas for a while now that would make things easier to keep things organized. I hope that happens soon.

See .... you know the thread better than I do****************************************

In any case, the forum is only as good as the members and the content they bring... thanks to all.

Thanks to you, too, HuskyT :applause:

I don't know much about vintage stuff at all, but I think you've done a great job here
