• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

THANK YOU!

As I'm going through the stats from 2015, wordpress tells me CafeHusky is one of the top 5 referrers of visitors to my site. Just behind Facebook, and ahead of Wikipedia and bike-urious.

So I'm curious if there's anything I can do to say thanks. If there are no responses, I'll assume that means you'd like me to go through my whole stack of magazines and post Husky stuff before anything else this year. Which I will do.

Thanks again to all at CH. Braaaaap!

Was your site down at some point? I enjoyed your site but at some point I ran into access issues? Maybe repost the link here as I'm sure there are new members that might not be familiar with it that would really enjoy all of the content.

Best regards,

I would actually like to see tests on the 1976 - 1979 WR models as I have only found CR tests in that timespan on YOCS.

That was nice of me to comment and then walk away for a week, eh?

Adam6402, there hasn't been any official down time, but I have seen issues when www. is not used.

Juicypips, thanks for hooking everybody up - your name suggests you trade Forex, no? If so, we have another thing in common.

Jimspac, they are coming. I went through my magazine collection and picked out all the Husky stuff for you guys. It's coming right behind all the Bultaco stuff. The Bultaco guys also sent a lot of readers my way last year so I have put you two on top priority. Less quantity of Bultaco articles so I figured I could get those done first and then hit the Huskies.

Sadly not im a welder the screen name is a mashup of a set of calipers and my surname.
No probs wilh helping glad it was right ;)

The 1986 250 Enduro Comparison from the Can-Am section from the old site has not been moved as well as the 1987 250 Enduro Comparison.

Just an observation Zack, not a rant.
