• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Terra has new companion!

Luge

Husqvarna
B Class
My Terra was feeling all alone in the shop with Honda ATV's, so i went to my local Husqvarna dealer today and purchased a companion Husqvarna its a YT42XLS.. 42 inch fabricated deck with lifetime warranty, Kawasaki 23hp v-twin engine,YT42XLS side.jpgYT42XLS dash.jpgYT42XLS#1.jpgYT42XLS deck.jpgYT42XLS side.jpgYT42XLS dash.jpgYT42XLS#1.jpgYT42XLS deck.jpg quite a step up from the big box store Husky's. I only wish it was Red and white!

I forgot about my 21 year old Husqvarna 232L brushcutter, only a carb kit in repairs in 21 years of service! and that's most likely due to using ethanol fuel before i was educated on its effects on small engines...

It even has a battery indicator/charging plug built in with flashing lights, 1. red=charge necessary

2. yellow charge recommended
3. green charge not necessary
I wish my Terra had this plug built in.

Consider the 165 upgrade. That will get you the hole shot your looking for.
I hope this 23hp Kawasaki 42 inch cut will sling some grass! my old john deere 102 17hp,42 inch with 700 hours was getting weak.

Thought I would share this. I own a Husky chain saw and it has been used mostly for tree trimming noting to strenuous.
I love to hear the 49cc engine run. It reminds me of the old two stroke days.
I guess the Strada has a companion. Now if I could only buy a new six day, like the first one I bought in 76

I heard that. I still like 2 smokes.Husqvarna. Penton and other euro bikes were scarce in TN in the 70's and 80's. I wish I had my 76 MR 250 back! I spent several months restoring this bike. But if i kept every bike i liked i would need a warehouse!..and deeper pockets!.lolView attachment 26174

Bee-ute-tee-full! Great job on the restoration.

Please let us know how well that works out for you. :)

(I could tell you all sorts of things about a Wheel Horse purchased new 2 years ago...)

I found out the charging system on my Husqvarna mower is a CTEC made in Sweden. I found the charger on Amazon, for around $35 it comes with extra wires so now i can hook one up to the Terra and use the same charger for the mower and bike.

I will give a ride report next week after it stops raining here.

My last dual sport bike was a Honda 2007xr 650 r 7.JPGxr 650 r 8.JPGxr 650 r 4.JPG XR 650R that i had modified to be barely street legal, the only thing lacking was high low headlight, but I was never stopped. It would do 115 mph and 3rd gear wheelies with 15-45 gearing and my 220lb body.I had a 40 rear sprocket i was going to try out, but never got around to it. I was thinking that maybe that would give a 120mph top speed.I do like high speed!..I really liked the Mefos tires. But it was kick start only and my old body is not what it used to be lol. that's why i sold it. This Terra is my first Husqvarna, and i love that E-start button!
