• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tell us your dream bike we could build out of 2010 and newer

WE are in a unique situation as we have a motorcycle salvage and part out lots of Huskys. So instead of us thinking up lower bikes ,Safari bikes etc, please tell us a plausable buildable project and the best one may happen. No TE610 in a Cr125 chassis ,real stuff.I have a few ideas kicking around in my head but would like to here from the Cafe husky group. Thanks for your future input.BILLF

Nice choice...

This is simple. WR 250 engine with old 6-speed installed, and that engine installed in a new style wr/cr 125/144/150 frame. 50mm twin chamber forks Marzocchi forks with a 45 mm zoke option for a woods bike. Ohlins shock. Ims tank, wr handlebars, ee handguards, I could keep going on...... Retro white plastic kit with blue, white and yellow graphics!!! If you do this, please let me know if it is for sale!! Would work with old 360 engine to****************************************

I'm looking for a TE but I have little confidence in the new mikuni crap...So maybe throw a modded TC motor into the chassis, carb and all, with the appropriate mods to make it start (E start as well). Give it a nice pipe tuned to it with a larger tank. I'd buy that. You could probably do this after you build the WR300 mentioned above, provided you have two chassis...

give it all the guards and rock proofing goodies to boot...

Just go ahead and install the NiMH battery and wiring set up from trailtech. Just make it a 165. Inside the clutch side case on the 125 is a blank space with bearing cutouts where the geared oil injector sits for the SM125. Put an electric start in there. Get a FI kit from High Gain Tuning and install it. Build it and someone will buy it. HintHint

Cr250 / 300 with a six speed in a 09+ X-lite chassis with the swingarm flipped and a 449 type linkage.

Let me add that if it's a 300+ size it needs to have a race head, cylinder needs to have the rear boost port brought up to same height as the rear transfers and one of the R&D type heads to improve starting.

2011 TE chassis, 2011 TXC suspension, xlite 310 engine with TC carb(jetted accordingly and assuming tc's ecu and wiring harness?[or dealer confirmed spotless EFI Tuning]) shorai battery, uptite skid plate, rad braces(not guards). Aftermarket coolant hoses and exhaust with quiet core(or DB killer, S/A Ect) Bridgestone 403, 404 tire combo. Medium seat foam. All white plastic with hints of black and red. Lastly and preferable, the IMS 2.9 gal tank.

A WB165 that is lowered 1.5 inches, TM chain guard, Motosporrtz disk guards, P3 pipe guard, radiator guards, big tank, steering stabilizer, Rekluse, FMF Turbinecore, Tubliss, PivotPegz, Cycra hand guards, Trailtech Endurance instead of the oem pos speedo, pillow top grips and zerk fittings on the shock linkage. Call it "The old man's trail special."

Forgot to add: WR250 throttle cable, BMP custom graphics ;)

How about a brand new 2010 TXc450{carb} plated & decked full street legal with big tank.Blk or clear $7195 can make your wish come true.billf

My 09 WR250 with Tubliss front and back skid plate and all guards Gnarly pipe, BRP under mount with Scott's dampener Fastway pegs Fly high bars, tall soft seat and 13:50 gearing is the perfect bike but if it had a good fitting 3 gallon tank and was 15lbs lighter it would be a dream bike.
