• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Team USA

I love all the choices, but honestly i sort of wish we didnt send a 250 rider. Id way rather see dungey, tomac, and canard go. Or another top 450 guy. If the 250 rider is stronger sure, give him the nod. If tomac stepped back down to the 250 heaven knows how fast he was last summer on it.

Either way we have a strong line up.

For sure, its cool we give our top 250 guys a shot and all but i dont know, this is an international competition shouldn't we send the absolute best line up. Hell italy has cairoli riding the 250!

The States dominate this racing ... Since '81, we've won it 22 times ... ITL, twice ..We do not need to bring in any ringers to win this crown.

I wanna see Martin race well ... The couple of interviews I saw with him earlier in the yr, he seemed to have his head on straight ... If the overall-party does not distract him too much, I think our 250cc rider is gonna do very well.

Eli has a yr under his belt racing MXdN and RD5 speaks for himself ... Good luck to each of our riders and the other competitors also.

They're all pros. No such thing as ringers.

Maybe not but it has the sound of a bell ringing ... Not sure what ITL sees or thinks of the competition that they are facing, but good luck to them and maybe their strategy will pay-off ... Apparently they are wanting to win or something.

This is a chance for #222 to excel. Is the #222 rider gonna be the second 250cc rider (other than RV2) to win 2 motos against the 4fitty bikes? Maybe... Will he lead every lap of both motos as RV2 did in 2007? I doubt that but again maybe ... Maybe #222 can lead his team to the podium or an overall victory.

They're all pros. No such thing as ringers.

For all you guys who don't have the time to follow our USA racers, here are a few words from the web about our riders and some of the recent racing history.

Team USA’s roster for this year’s Motocross des Nations is officially set. Ryan Dungey (MX1), Jeremy Martin (MX2) and Eli Tomac (MX3) will be representing the stars and stripes next month in Latvia.

Dungey, who will be representing the U.S. for the sixth consecutive year, is currently second in 450 Class points in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and is a two-time champion in the class here in the U.S. Martin, the current 250 Class points leader, will be making his first appearance in the event but was an easy selection after setting himself apart as this season’s breakout rider in the division. Tomac, who has MXoN experience after racing for Team USA last year, has been excellent in his debut season in the 450 Class and has shown the ability to win races.

Team USA will look to snap a two-year losing streak at the prestigious international event. The U.S. won the event seven years in a row from 2005-2011, but Germany (2012) and Belgium (2013) have been the most recent champions.

-- Two? 1, 2 race losing streak? Mr. RD5 is gonna rise to his top game after he finishes the MX season (on top?) and start a new winning streak for his home country of America, I do believe.

Here's another little piece of the puzzle ... Latvia ... Its an unknown land to me pretty much. Speaking for myself and myself only ... Its not so easy to fly around the planet and step off a plane in a foreign land and do your best work...People that do it, can make it look easy but it is not easy ... Everything that is happening daily there becomes a show to see and one can totally loose focus on the task at hand that you are there for. This is the time you need adults and experience to help get your best foot forward.

Latvia? Think Vikings and Reindeer.

Yep and a pretty interesting location ... I never look at maps unless driven to by some specifics like riding places here on this island... I do remember some of this stuff from HS but times have changed the landscape alot ... Sort of looks really close knitted and land locked for many ...

dang I wanted to see the bullet#!!! he is so dang entertaining to watch, never a dull moment. Im still in awe over that foto of him scrubbing that outside line soft corner rut from before he broke his thigh, that is one of the best MX fotos of all time IMHO (and I can think of alot of cool ones both old and new).

# just in case, the bullet=Jeffry Herlings

ok im behind and last night I found out the FIM made some changes back in 2002 what size bikes go in MX1 MX2 &3 AND IS E1-2-3 the same:confused:

MX1 is 2t up to 250cc or 4t up to 450cc. MX2 is 2t up to 125 (lame) or 4t up to 250cc. MX3 is 2t up to 500 or 4t up to 650 (but everyone just fields a 450.)
