    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Added heated grips to my 2008 TE 610 and decided the wiring at the battery was becoming a mess with the battery charger, GPS and now grips wires all connected to the terminals. Ordered and received a 3 circuit harness from Eastern Beaver to clean things up. Can't say it looks cleaned up, but, it is much better organized. Ran flex conduit for the wires from the battery to the front behind the light.

The EB harness is nicely made and the water proof 3 circuit fuse box a nice consolidation of the fuses in one place.

I just built a 3 circuit harness for my wife's XT250 and once the tamper proof allen tools come in and I can pull the plate off the Britannia fairing so I can see how the previous owner wired the USB and power outlet, I will probably make one for my 610 as well.

This is the one I built (before hooking up and why the blue wire is left so long, I wasn't sure how far it was to switched 12v power for the relay. I used sealed connectors so it is completely watertight.

Nice work!

I plugged in to the "parking" light behind the headlight to activate the relay for the heated grips only when the key is on. The relay is mounted to the underside of the bracket that supports the instrument display.
 
Thanks. The only reason I didn't get the Eastern Beaver kit is because I had half of the parts already. EB builds some great quality stuff.
 
I would have done the same if I had the stuff. After checking around at several local auto parts places and on line, the EB kit made sense. I didn't have anything to start with.
