    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Anyone buy a pipe guard from Pirie performance? I ordered one from them in Feb 2013 and still have not received it. Anyone got an in, I have tried calling and emailing many times. I think I am going to get my CC company to get me a refund.
 
I bought a skidplate from him. He's notorious for taking forever. Mine took a couple months and I e-mailed a few times until he finally replied. It'll come
eventually. I'm impatient when it comes to buying bike parts on-line so I probably won't be ordering anything more from him. He does make quality stuff,though.
 
I ordered a pipe guard in Jan. I called and emailed a few times before he answered. He emailed me last week and said he had the TE449/511 pipe guards finished and would have them shipped by Monday. That was day before yesterday so they should show up soon.
 
Had the exact same prob last year when I ordered mine. Couldn't get any answer out him till I made a comaint through PayPal. Then I got an answer the same day.
 
Which means he sees the emails but doesn't give a dam until paypal threatens to take his money away. great business.
 
I have to agree. Not the best business practice. Ignoring emails and phone messages? Come on. Communicate with your customers man...

I'd really like to have one, but I'm about to order something different. Aggravation, man, aggravation.

Don't order from him...3 months, nothing...no response to my emails or VM...I called the C/C company and disputed the charge today, since he charged my c/c...
sent him an email about that, he responded right way...

anyway, DON'T order from him...
 
I know a few vendors that operate that way. I understand making product, but communicate, and deliver as promised.
I have a piece ordered now that I have been waiting for 10 weeks. If I had known that I would not have ordered.
If you know a long lead time is needed, it's your choice.
