...but they arent exactly the same inside. 5 spd vs 6 at the very least.
Im holding out for the cooler with chrome fins myself :-)
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

The TC449 is 5 speeds. Technically 2011 and 2012 cases are different, but for practical purposes, they are exactly the same. ;P
Hahaha you got me on that one. I only recommend the max amount of 1150cc, but I had to do the no brainier test of putting the bike on it's kick stand and filled the case until it over flowed out the fill threads. Still, no oil past the breather bottle. 1150cc of 40 weight oil would work fine.I cant believe an engineer said "practical purposes" and "exactly" in the same sentence![]()
I need the oil to come out for my auto chain lube application.Lay it down on the right hand side and give it a few throttle pulls(just kidding...)
Re-burning the blow-by gasoline is actually a good thing and you shouldn't have oil in the air box with the valve cover vent.
I will ask when I run by the shop today. Ty transported my 511 to the machine shop on Monday for fitting of another prototype. The bottle is a bit more complicated than everyone elses because it fits four models across 3 years with all different types of headers.so what is the eta on zip ty/tinken breather bottle mod?
I am going to try the Zip-Ty valve cover breather to see if it allows for a bit more oil to be run, but running the typical 2-3 hours GP/XC races in the northwest and changing the oil after every race it has held up fine so far as-is.
It's in the Technical Reference forum. PC-167Hey Tink can you send me a link where you purchased the stainless filters?
If I did mine over, would tap the filler plug with a 90 deg elbow instead of a straight fitting, so the hose could be better routed around the clutch, closer to the motor.
I like the idea of adding a straight AN fitting to the fill plug and then a swivel 45-90° similar to what Randy produced. This would be much more convenient come oil time and look good.
