  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE511 LHRB. I want one.

I do not have an auto clutch on my TE, but I want a left hand rear brake. I see that Rekluse makes a nice one where you can keep the clutch lever and the stock foot lever, but it says it is only for the older models up to 2010. Does anyone know if it would fit a 2012 TE511?

One of the Supermoto guys did it. I think he bought it from Toxic Moto. You'd have to sift through the smr511 mod thread though

Ive been eyeing off a thumb brake setup on ebay for a while, my proposterously long legs make using the foot brake a chore. Unfortunatelu I have no cash to splash on such things though!

I picked up the Rekluse kit today and installed in about an hour. It works GREAT! No more worrying about my right foot on steep downhills. I have a 50+ mile poker run tomorrow so it will get thoroughly tested.

The Poker Run went great today. The Rekluse LHRB performed flawlessly and I am MUCH more confident and much faster on extremely steep downhills now. I thought $300 for this component was too much, but after today I say it's worth every penny.

Can you take some pictures of it? Did it interfere with clutch work at all?

Did not interfere with the clutch at all. I did not touch the LHRB lever unless I wanted to. I was surprised how quickly I got used to using it. I did have to cut into the grip a bit due to space restrictions from the blinker/horn switch assembly. Other bikes that this kit was designed for do not have the switch assembly.

Very cool setup...

Is this similar to what the supermoto guys run to do those slow speed wheelies and other tricks while their feet are no where near the brake pedal?

If anyone has a good recommendation for an aftermarket clutch lever for a 2012 TE 449 I would like to pick one up and install this wknd?

Yea the LHRB is exactly what the stunt guys use. My bike fell off the stand and bent the clutch lever when I was servicing it so I replaced it with the Warp 9 one in the picture. I LOVE the warp 9 lever. Much better than stock and it will pivot backwards so will not get bent like the stock lever when the bike goes over.

I was working on a left hand thumb brake using a cr85 mc...it'll work and the handle bar does have a lot going on, but I need to make a stiffer bracket. I put a rekluse on and am toying with making the current clutch my rear brake and the thumb brake my clutch.
