  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE510 "07 dismounting of E3

Iceman

Husqvarna
A Class
Are some one out there that can assist. ?

I have a TE510 2007 model legislated as E3 I like to dismount the solenoid valve and air temp sensor in they Air filter box.
I have mount the race muffler an I have the race wiring kit but don't like to install it. as I do not need more power and I like to keep all lights available.
So my question is : is it OK. and if does it affect the fuel consumption ?

BRG, Iceman

If you do not receive any responses to this thread feel free to add another post and repeat the request (bump the thread). I hope someone with knowledge replies but much of the 2007 TE E3 knowledge may be over on ThumperTalk.com. They were only made 1 or 2 years between the Carb (Keihin) and the EFI (Mikuni).

Sadly there is no way to search for "E3" on a forum such as Cafe Husky or ThumperTalk using the search function because it is 2 letters. You may try putting this into google:
"E3" site:thumpertalk.com

I hope you get your answers

I have one as well and yes you can remove the solenoid and temp. sensor. But make sure you plug the hose that runs to the solenoid really good or replace the carb connector with one from a TC. If you dont, your bike will run very lean and suck in dirt from the open hose.

It doesnt affect fuel economy and you also dont need the racing harness, unless you want to save weight ( it does not add horsepower) . A member on TT bought the dual map harness and confirmed that the bikes come with the more aggressive ignition map from the factory.

Make sure you get a JD jetting kit or use the supplied jets as these bikes are lean from the factory.
Have you removed the AP cap ( Accelerator Pump )?

Thank´s for your reply on my questions.
"Husky Max" thank´s for your advice. I will then go for it.
AP Cap ?? Is it the throttle limiter on the side of the carb. ( aluminiun plug around the t-cable ) ?

Best regards, Iceman

I think we are talking about the same thing. Here is a video that shows where it is and how to remove it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo-vHZm37U4

That is for the 2006/7 TE/SM bikes. Does it also apply to the 2007 non-efi E3 bikes as well, sold in Europe and a few sold in the USA?

I'm trying to document these things cause I'm starting to forget :oldman:

Correct. The only difference is the 450,510 use a 41mm carb. I dont think there were any efi bikes in 07. I also have a manual I got from a member on TT that is E3 specific.

Ok, I'll change the thread in the tech section to reflect that.
"applies to 2006 = 2007 non-efi bikes including the 2007 E3 bikes" Let me know if that is in accurate.

I have made the changes, But the engine misfire when starting if the Temp sensor was
unconnected ( pherhaps I need to connect the wires to gather to fool the system )
But dismounting the solinoid was OK . I have tried the bike an everything seems working.
( Temp sensor connected )
"Husky Max" Yes we are talking about same thing and this plug was on my 06 TE450 but it was not on this one when I got it from the dealer.
They EFI bikes came as 08 model late 2007 and with the new frame ( White color)

Thats strange, when I unplugged mine it didnt make any difference. Did you plug the hose that went to the solenoid? I thought the temp. sensor was there to control the solenoid.:excuseme:

Yes I dit plug the hose, I will check the ohm resistor in the sensor to see if it´s OK make a circuit on the plug.
