  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE449 Need ECU-Actually Need 2 ECUs

F1000

Husqvarna
A Class
Mailed 2 ECUs to Zip Ty racing, both lost in the mail. Zip Ty says they never received them, postal service says they shipped but can't confirm delivery. Both bikes are 2013 TE449s. The P/N on the ECU was 8A00H3182, this lists online for $419, then if you look up the microfische it calls out 8AU0H3182, which lists on line for $298. I have no clue what the difference between the two are or why there is a price difference? Zip Ty said a month out to receive a replacement, but I didnt get that warm and fuzy feeling they could even get one, indicated it had to come from Italy. Anyone got one or two from smashed or parting out bikes? Suggestions?

Thanks
Glenn

Wow that sucks!!! Good luck. When did this happen? many they will still show up. Where did you mail them from?

Mailed from NY, well over a month ago. Should have been there February 11th. I contacted everyone at USPS, to include the mail the mail sortation plant manager and the local California post master. They looked high and low for them within the facility, no luck. Was in conversations with them for weeks, from one supervisor to the next. No luck, parts are gone.

Did you have tracking on the packages? Not sure how you sent it out, but the USPS usually insures it's packages up to a certain amount. I have a BMW ecu that already has map 3 on it I am selling, you can pm me for details.

I spoke to Danny at Zip Ty, he did offer to get me replacements for a little under 300 with map 3 installed, which is a good deal. Thanks. Right now I am just looking for reassurance that someone can actually get the ECU as there aren't any in the USA, needs to come from Italy. Our nearest dealer has a similiar price with a remap, not sure if it is the BMW 3 like we sent them out for, but it did work prior. At this rate I am just looking for some reassurance someone can get them, so we can order. KTM didn't even have them in the parts listing, they were suppose to do that today. So the part could be looked up. Not good anyway you look at it. Getting the USPS to do anything will be like pulling teeth from a pit bull.
