  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE449 Bar Riser Fabrication

It has been a long hard winter here in Canada.....

Sooooo, instead of riding my bike, I have been thinking about fabricating a set of milled aluminum bar risers, roughly 25mm rise, with a linking bridge between the columns. On this bridge would be tabs for accessory mounts.

QUESTION:

On the top triple clamp of a 2011 TE449, What is the exact distance in (mm) between the centrepoints of the bar clamp bolts... the M10 ones.

My bike is not in the shop atm, (so I can't measure it) and I can't seem to find the info anywhere else. I know this is the place to ask, and undoubtably someone just knows the measurement off the top of their head. I am drafting up the CAD files now.

Thanks in advance, Andy

Are you talking the actual bar clamps (4 bolts)? those are 45MM between the fore and aft center. 2012 te511

No, the distance between centre points of the M10 bolts. I attached a picture of the touratech bar risers (in red). A m10 bolt runs through the red riser to the bar clamps. The riser I am thinking of making would go where the pictured red risers are and utilize the existing bar clamps - essentially the same thing - but with a bridge linking the tops of the red columns. Thanks for the measurement though. I'll write that one down.Qldlxa-1.JPG

Ok, that was hard to measure exactly, but I'd say 93 - 94 MM, It's hard to say exactly without centering pins. If I had to make my best guess, I'd say 93,5MM

Rocking, thank you very much tonskiguy :applause:

I certainly hope you didn't take it all apart just to measure that.
