    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

TE449/511 supposed to come with a muffler?

I was sure i read several places that the TE 449/511 comes with the "race" muffler and possibly the EFI tuning kit. My dealer told me neither came with my bike. As this adds about $1000 to an already very expensive motorcycle I'm none to pleased about it. Anyone in the USA get one of these new TE's? And did it come with anything?

I huge majority of the TE's shown on the web have the "race" muffler installed...

I just purchased a 2011 husqvarna TE449 over the holiday weekend. (A photo of it is in my Avatar window). I was told by my husqvarna dealer that the (US) TE & TXC 449/511 only comes with the Franconi (Large Stock Muffler). I also called Husqvarna North American and they also told me the same thing. This is what the US market to gets.

- TC 449 gets a Titinum Akrapovic muffler
- TE & TXC 449/511 you get a Franconi Muffler (Large Stock Muffler)

If you want a Akrapovic muffler or any other "race" muffler you have to purchase it on your own.

On my 2011 TE 449 I got the Franconi (Large Stock Muffler) and a bag of goodies. (i.e. Manual, Flash drive, clutch/brake lever covers, extra screws & bolts, rubber collar for fuel tank and a key chain).

Note: Husqvarnas motorcycles being shipped to Europe and other countries get more accessories options then we do here in the US.
 
Confirmed from several dealers it does not come with the extra muffler and it is in stock but even dealer pricing is ridiculious, like $800 os somthing. Disappointing as NO ONE will want to run that car muffler.

I do have some mufflers here I'm sure will work but i find this a little disappointing when paying that much for a bike and thinking it came with the real muffler and EFI tuner.

i will mangle one of the these on till I sort it out...

I was told by Husqvarna NA to call ty davis at zipty racing they have some products & services and a lot of techincal info that they have developed for the 2011 Husky 449/511s

My dealer called me yesterday and told that he will be finish with the (PSM) on friday and the bike will be ready for pickup on saturday. He said he had some more goodies to give me when I pickup the bike on saturday. So I can tell you for sure over the weekend.

There little black loop plug in the kit with the bike ,it plugs in under the seat next to the I beat plug in,we plugged that in and unplugged the o2 sensor and the Te511 ran alot better it revs out and rips even with that big muffler.billf

thanks for the info Bill. :thumbsup: I called and spoke with Bryon today about it too. So no need to do EFI tuning? Wonder if I add a pipe if it will need tuning?
 
I was just kidding ,it cost me $1700 to get exhaust on mine(gulp). It is borderline total BS that all the pictures show the bike with the Akropvic. I just finnished putting it on . I will post it up in the Motosportz Kuddo's section. If the weather breaks next week let go for a break in DS rip.
 
That sucks they don't include the race pipe, Kelly. That stock pipe is fugly! Does it have a cat inside?

The US TXC has an Akro included, the TE does not. One more reason I went with the TXC instead of the TE 511.
 
that isnt good i got akroprovik silencer with mine free and the standard one with the bike in race mode pre fitted before delivery,the standard one is very ugly
