  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE310R not starting

Hi,
2013 te 310 engine turns over fuel pump runs, dash board and lights do NOT come on and bike does not fire up.
No click from relay as lights and dash go off after a few seconds as the never came on.

FI orange light does nothing

3 fuses OK 2 relays check out ok.

Any ideas

Cheers

Removed tank carefully washed ecu and wiring harness so I could do valve checks. Done this 3-4 times before no problems in past. I have checked all plugs and sockets for water all dry. Used same pressure washer on 2011 model for 2 years never had problem. It a worn out washer and neverget within 12-15 inchs of electrics

Pull everything back apart and make sure all the electrical contacts are dry and that the fuel line to the throttle body is fully seated on the fuel rail fitting. I'f I don't get the fuel line right on my 2012 TE310 it will do as you describe and just keep cranking. The way I can tell it is not on now is the pump will have a bit of a gurgling sound to it when the line is not on correctly.

Same thing just happened to my 2013 TE310. Installed an IMS tank, washed the bike (mainly wheels, fenders) and rode around for about a mile to dry everything. Tried to start it a few minutes later and nothing. Same symptoms as Applepie. Reconnected the fuel line...check fuses...still nothing. It's a brand new bike and this makes me a little nervous...especially if I were in the middle of the desert. Any other ideas before I spend half a paycheck at the dealer.

Hi mike AK,
Done what you said but 13's have a totally different electrical system no key to turn power on.
One of the relays is not switching it brings the lights on and dash board on.
Its like ecu getting no power or ecu not switching that relay to power up ignition.
I am getting starter and fuel but no spark/ecu and I have checked stop button on left handle bar:)

I had a similar problem on 2013 TXC 310 . I had no power to Fuel Pump.

Needed new ECU . Had no problem with it since.

I would double check ECU Plug and Wiring Loom Plug. If all looks OK take back to Dealer to plug into HST !

They switched from Mikuni to Keihen this year. You need an HST tool.

Surely you are still under warranty. I know you guys on that side of the pond get twice the coverage as us Yanks.

Will be under warranty just did not want to drag it to a dealer for something silly. Dragged my 2011 150 miles for a £8 faulty temp switch.
Cheers.

Hi Found problem opperator/owner error:doh: .

When removing cams to check shim sizes crank must have moved:excuseme: so both cams 1 tooth out.
cams were opening valves late and injector was injecting fuel with walve still shut engine does not even pop or bang.

I will be putting marks on gear that drives cams and head casting so as not to do that again:o:banghead: . Aslo will be finishing tool for holding a clock / DTI in plug hole for measuring TDC.

luck valve did not hit piston i always turn engine over with kick start after refitring cams,

Thanks for replys

Paul
