  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE310R map switch

Dogs Breakfast

Husqvarna
A Class
Hi everyone,
I have traded my TE449 for a 2014 TE310R.
I have installed the blue mode switch which plugs into the bike's wiring harness perfectly with the intention of swapping between the 2 maps on the ECU - full power and traction.

The problem is that I cannot work out how to change the maps.
I have tried pressing the switch for 3-10 seconds, bike warm and cold, holding switch in when starting, clutch in and out.

I have seen how this same switch works on a 2012 TE310 with Mikuni , but mine is Keihin and doesn't seem to work the same.

Questions
- has any installed a map switch on a Keihin TE310R ? How did you get it to work?
- have I got the right switch ? Blue mode switch in use (normally open, closed only when pressed), or should I have used a 2 position Switch?
- have I plugged it into the right place (behind headlight , removed blanking plug)
- what displays on the dash?
- can maps be changed on the fly?

Cheers for this
Ian

Not sure on all your points , but the Husky switch I have on my 013/014 is Black and Red with "Map1" and "Map2".
I always select the Map I want before starting the Bike.
I don't run a Dash so don't know what it shows. I'm not sure if the Mikuni FI switch works on the later bikes ?

Thanks Tinken & DG,
I have tried holding the mode switch when starting, and shorting the connector wires when starting. The dash doesn't show any difference.
I haven't tried riding it yet to see if I can feel a difference to work out which map is in play.

If Tinken is right I should be able to hold the mode switch down when starting to select map 2 which will then stay in operation until the bike is stopped. I will try this on my next ride.

Cheers guys
Ian
