  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE310R flywheel broken key

Allan Briscoe

Husqvarna
AA Class
I have about 1200 km on my TE310R and recently went to go for a ride and the bike stalled on cold start up which is often does but after cranking a couple of time on the restart the starter just then all of a sudden just started to spin with out turning the engine over. I tryed to kick start the bike but no go either so I had to pack up and go home. I took the bikeback to the dealer as it is still under warranty and they found the flywheel nut loose and the drive key broken so that explains the no starting on the kick start as the timing refernce is lost. Has anyone else had this happen the dealer and I had concens but Husky Australia asured me that replacing the key and retension the flywheel nut will not happen again. Anyone had repaet failure?

Happens a lot. Dealers typically put the flywheels on with an impact driver. This shatters the key. We built a tool that keeps this from happening. The only two dealers that I know of that have this tool is Jay Hall and Bill's.

I did mention that to the dealer and the distributor but they didn't seem to think they need your tooling and would be able to tighten the nut with out a impact gun and without your tool. I don't think anyone in Australia has the tooling pictured. If it happens again I will buy the tooling myself from you guys as you can never have enough tools.

Thanks Tim if I have anymore problems I will Stefan a call I am in SA but I have used R&D many times they are very good.
