  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE310R 2013 Oil Filter ?

Husqvarna
C Class
Hi I am the new owner of a 2013 TE310R and cannot seem to get a solid answer on the oil filter. OEM part is 8000 A7019. I can find some cross references to the HiFlo HF116 and the K&N KN116. Has anyone used a HiFlo HF116 for their bike?

Not sure of the p/n's but it's the same filter as the Honda cr250x off-road bike. Typically cheaper to buy it from a Honda shop.

Which filter does ZT use or were used on the fleet and race bikes? Scotts or? In specific for the 310?

We used to use Scotts which are about $70 a filter. We now use PC Racing and used these in the GH24hr. They sell for around $30.

SS filters are pretty much required on the new KTM huskys. The paper filters implode from the pressure if you pop them in dry.

Some have said the fitment wasn't quite right with the PC or I would have purchased one and the Scotts... Was about to buy one but I look at this puny sized filter and go no way $85 delivered. I wish there was some clarity... I have one HF left before I need to replace.

on the subject of oil and filters for the 511 motor twin mesh filters does it matter which way round they go back in as one is slightly different to the other - the wsm just says install back in reverse order

Nantista has problems with the PC racing filter and ended up going with the Scotts. I'm not sure if PC Racing have resolved the problem or not. I would give them a call. 951/698-4962

It does matter, though I do not have a working diagram in front of me. Will have to search on CH for one.

cool - one mesh filter has a segment without mesh - I remember that the non mesh segment sits outwards but forgot whether it came out of the front facing side or back facing side

PC filters suck, they always have. Stay away from them. Stainless filters are fine if you always want to have a dirty filter in your bike. Theres no way your going to convince me you get all the dirt out of one when you clean it.

Like I said, we used PC Racing SS filters in our recent 24 hour Glen Helen event and they performed flawlessly at baking temperatures. They don't suck, in fact they are awesome. Technically I'm glad they get dirty, if it stayed clean in my bike, then it wouldn't be doing it's job.
What you run in your bike is your own choice, I probably have a better chance at convincing you of an alien invasion, lol.

I bought one, I used one, the PC cover it came with leaked, I removed it and went back to stock. If they cant make a cover that doesnt leak, then I have no faith in their filter either. I'm one of only a handful of guys on this forum that tell it like it is and most people dont like that. Dont get me started on Seat Concepts or $800 revalves either. LOL!

The stainless 310 filters are just like the paper ones as far as installation. You use the stock cover. Curious how the oil feed to the head worked with the aftermarket cover you reference. Do you have a picture?
