  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

te310 with rekluse

Not doubting you are having installation/fitment issues but I installed a EXP 3.0 on my 2012 TE310 and it couldn't have been easier. Directions were very easy to follow with the one exception of the lock washer fitment which was a simple fix by using the OEM one. The included Rekluse lock washer was for a larger diameter center shaft and may have worked but I didn't like the way it fit so I chose to reuse the OEM washer, successfully. I posted a thread on the process. Sorry you had a bad experience with it. I'm guessing they changed the parts based on the troubles you are having. Oh ya and my clutch basket was worn so I used the Rekluse billet basket so maybe that helped?

Rekluse has contacted me again apparently there are some bikes that need the extra washer but most do not I got the throw out washer locally but I have locked the center in the wrong place and can not move it I will be up for a new pressure plate so I will be removing the clutch and replace the oem parts This could have been avoided by rekluse including the washer in the kits it would be cheap for them but it has been costly for me I state again I would not recommend any rekluse product:thumbsdown:

Rekluse as offered to warrant a new pressure plate and plug if I can not remove the center they have also indicated that they review the instructions for this model and included the washer in the kits this service I am happy with and hopefully get to try this clutch in the future

Struggling to hold on to the 310 at my age

OFF TOPIC : I'm 57, and when I get into really tight single track (which in NJ we're talking trees as close as your cut down bar ends) I use the "sad" mode... RACE II, seems a bit easier on me...

Back on Topic! ;-)

Rekluse has posted my new pressure plate I cannot fault there response to this mistake(misunderstanding) I hope this is the start of a good experience .MY txc310r does not have the dual mapping but thanks for your input

Me again bored while waiting for my parts from Rekluse If any of you are using the handle bar rear brake kit do you have the brake lever above or below the clutch lever and if so why ? also do you run the standard gearing or a high gearing thanks

I have the opposite problem. Just installed CORE EXP on my brand new 2014 (same as 2013) TE310 and I cannot get any free play. Forget one turn and 2 clicks clockwise. I have turned the adjuster on the slave cylinder counter clockwise until I can see the o-ring and still no free-play. If I put the bike in gear I get a slight tug but bike won't move. I'm going to pull the clutch and triple check how I put it together. But I am certain I followed the instructions.
I'm in touch with reKluse now.

Again I agree with Menace. The washer's should be included with the clutch!! After I took out the OEM steels and put in the Rekluse steels I had to use the OEM washer plus both the 30 & 60 thousands washer's they had sent me!! This took disassembling and reassembling the clutch three times to get the right combo:banghead: I'm not impressed with the adjustable slave cylinder. There seems to be little or no difference when its adjusted!! I think they should utilize both the orig. center pressure plate adjuster for major adjustments and the slave cyl. adjuster for minor adjustments. Right now I'm adding washers to make major adjustments which is more time consuming and requires more disassembly then if I used the pressure plate adjuster!! Makes no sense why they stopped using that???

Bottom line is they have been very helpful...parts have arrived in a timely manner. They even helped out with shipping due to the problems I was having. And I didn't even have to ask them...it was offered:thumbsup:And I do have to say....I love the product!! Once it's set up properly...it's ssswweeeeet****************************************!!

Problem Solved ! A very patient Rekluse tech walked me through it. I'm embarrassed to say that I read the wrong directions and didn't think I needed all the friction plates from the OEM clutch. I left one out.
I rode the bike last weekend and it's awesome! I am ruined forever form riding a bike with a standard clutch.

I guess I'm lucky. I used the oem thrust washer and have plenty of adjustment via the slave cylinder.

Chris, glad to hear this... I'm only up Rt 295 from you... So, if I'm feeling flush and get a Rekluse I can come over your house to set it up! :)

Of course! It's not hard at all. (Just need to read the directions properly and call Rekluse if the directions are vague.)
I'm in your age bracket. (Just turned 56) I grew up with dirt bikes in northern Jersey, but have been out of it for about 15+ years. I have been more involved with street and track-days.
So far, DNF'd at Sandy Lane, and Greenbrier, and finished Delaware enduros. Looking forward to some dual sports this fall.
Our recreational rides are usually the Pine Barrons off 70 not far from ATCO and Coatsville PA.

Off topic for a moment:

ChrisP,

I'm in the same boat as you.. 57 (as you know) I, too.. have really been out of active off-road for at least 15 years.. I last rode Enduros when I turned 40 or so. I was a member of Meteor (Sandy Lane Enduro). I still, aLways had a dirt bike in the garage (KLX300R) but it just sat as I rode street more and more... this year a few in my BMW club (New Sweden BMW Riders) are getting back into dirt riding and after riding Need2boats TXC310... I had to get one! (always wanted a Husky since the 70's even when I rode Orange)

I literally ride in Atco (off Jackson Road- and towards Atsion Road) directly across from Atco dragway (that is the start of Wharton Tract) TONS of single track out there but a lot of it is whopped out. Re; Enduros, rode a 45 mile fresh tight single tract "mini-enduro" w/ Need2Boat.. towards the end I wacked a tree, hurt my neck, arm, etc.. at the finish everyone is all packed away, happy, partying.. Me? Looking for a stretcher, Oxygen and morphine! :)

BACK ON TOPIC!

Ok got mine in and only took 45 mins till was on it breaking it in. Had zero issues what so ever except adjustment had to go one full turn + 2 clicks/lines. Then two more lines. Love the durn thing and why didn't i do this while ago! This install on 2013 Txc 310R.
Tippy out!
