  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE310 Hand Guards

I need some advice on hand guards for my 2012 TE310. I had purchased some Enduro Engineering hand guards, but when test fitting before installation, I could not get the bar clamps to clear the hydraulic lines for the clutch and brake. If anyone has made the EE guards fit, would you mind posting some pics. Also, if anyone else has a set of any other brand of guards that fit well on a TE310, pics (especially of the bar clamps) would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had to rotate the hydraulic lines (loosen bolt on end just enough to be able to rotate the line to where you want it and re tighten) Here are pics of both the EE evolution and EE standard clamps, I had to rotate the line up for one style, down for the other. As you can see it is a tight fit. Do you have the right clamps? I think the '12 TE310 has Magura 1 1/8" bars, same as the bikes in the pics, '11 and '12 TE250s. I have been really happy with the performance of the EE guards. You can go to the EE site to identify if you are not sure what style you have or just call them up. http://www.enduroeng.com/

Wow...I wouldn't that describe that as "fitting" at all. I think I am done with Enduro Engineering products. The radiator braces and skid plate I bought from them both had fitment issues that I was able to correct, but that interference between the bracket and the hydraulic line looks like a failure mode I'd rather not duplicate.

You asked if anyone made these fit, rotating the lines only took but a minute or two. I don't know why you would call this "failure mode" either. I don't think there is a place you could clamp anything on the bars without it being pretty close to the lines. The clamps for the guards are good and solid, the clamps for the controls less so, allowing them to rotate rather than break. (the set up has been tested hitting a few trees and getting banged around pretty good) There is just lots of stuff to fit on the bars and only so much space. If the guards happened to take a hit hard enough to bend or rotate them and take out the lines I think that would be the least of my worries. Anyway, just showing how I got it to fit, sorry this won't work for you.

Sorry, did not mean it as an insult. I would just be concerned with a bump to the guard damaging the line leaving me without a clutch or a front brake out in the boonies.

I had to rotate the banjo bolts too, mine are Acerbis Rallye Pro-X guards. It's a snug fit, I have mine real tight, they don't move on a fall but they do bend a little. Every now and then I have to take them off and bend them back into shape or the brake lever fouls the guard.

nice photos :) they will definatly be my next set, not totally happy with the ones i have on my 310....

btw did u raise your forks or is that where they should be? trying to think what line mine are set at without going to the shed :) :)

I have these but in black bought them in 2007 but I guess they discontinued the black, I am very happy with them been using them since 2007 on several different bikes and run enduros harescrambles dual sports etc pretty much run everything and never tore my hands up, they fit great on my 2012 te310 didnt have to move or modify anything just adjust my levers where they were comfortable to me and cut the ends of th grips and throttle tube.

I think I am going to skip bar clamps all together and go with the HDB units. Is anyone using their rear turn signals yet? I would like to see a pic of them mounted if anyone has them.

The forks are where the dealer had them. I'm a short arse so they certainly won't be going down! I did raise them as far as they go but the bike was unstable at speed, so back they went. Didn't make any noticeable difference to seat height anyway.
