  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE310 and Rekluse

Got a TE310 coming (2011), how do they go with a Rekluse? I wondered if the smaller motor would handle the extra flywheel weight?

I have one on my 2010 TXC 250 and works great! No stalling and I still can use the clutch like normal. I have the Core EXP II.

I have one and like it pretty well. I'm starting to wonder whether I really needed it, though, as it was really easy to ride without the autoclutch. It definitely gives you that piece of mind in the technical stuff, though. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the bike seems to be slightly less responsive...I probably just need to fine tune the clutch adjustment.

What sort of riding do you do? I intend to do fire trails and singles in slippery clay filled forests here on the east coast of Australia

Yeh, thats what i thought, the extra flywheel weight slows the throttle response (though gives more drive and traction) and since the 310 is already a low rev torque based delivery more weight would only make that more pronounced.

Love the Avatar Phoenix!

I ride a lot of single track trail riding and racing Hare Scrambles and Enduros. I am pretty lazy on the clutch so it saves me from stalling the bike. I think it makes the slimy, slippery stuff easier becasue you don't have to focus on the clutch as much and can concetrate on other things.

The new Core EXP is super easy to adjust and in my book worth every penny. I put one in all of our bikes, my wife won't ride another bike without a Rekluse.

Thanks mndirtrider, sounds like good advice, now just have to find a buyer for my '05 TE450 and I'm off...
