  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te310 Air Filter Install Crazy!!!

Husqvarna
A Class
Ok this is my second air filter install on my 2011 TE 310. First the Moose filters some dealer sold me didn't fit. I had to take the rubber grommet off the old filter. Yes I still have my screen in. Bike runs great. I have about 200 miles on the bike. The install of the filter is a nightmare. So just like my CRF I cut and added about a quarter inch to the filter screw. install is much easier. The Moose filter is a little thicker so getting the screw to catch was impossible. Once again I think the engineers were drinking when they designed the thing. Good luck.

It is a little primative but it is something that after 4 or 5 changes with rubber gloves you can effect very quickly. Personally I take the screen out. In all the years of owning a Husky I have not had a flame out and certainly in Oz in the summer the dust can be an issue. Sans the screen the filter seats more snugly

I think I may take the screen out also. Watch I'll be the first to have his new Husky catch fire!!

THE 2011 TE 310 WOULD HAVE TO BE THE WORST DESIGNED AIR FILTER I HAVE EVER SEEN AND TO GO WITH THAT THE OIL DRAIN HUSKY IS GOING BACKWARDS

Oh my god I forgot about that stupid drain plug. Still the worst was I beleive the original KX250F MX bike. In order to change the oil filter you had to remove the cover which also drained the coolant!!! Seriously. That drain plug scares me.
