$11 ORV tab and off we goooooo

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
And on top of that some places such as Camino Cielo from SB to Santa Ynez is restricted to plated bikes as are many National Forest Roads so it is in any manufacturers interest to have a 50 state legal version of their off road bikes for the big state of CA and elsewhere.
I guessing not with Andy or Broc. I'm sure I'll buy another one in the future and give them a try again.I'm not sure who you dealt with, but I bought my 125 from Williamsport Honda / Husky and couldn't have been happier with the way I was treated. I dealt with Andy and Broc and they were both great. Without trying to sound like an advertisement, I felt like I was buying from enthusiasts that were just as into the sport as I am. I can and do recommend them.

I just bought a TE300 from these guys in Fife. http://www.larsonpowersportsnorthwest.com . I paid msrp plus tax, license and $150 doc fee. They did drop the setup and freight fees. Saved about $800 or so. I tried to get it for msrp out the door but I guess I'm not the best negotiator. And I guess they need to make a profit. They are new to selling bikes, mostly cars, (Russell Wilson does their commercial (GO HAWKS!) ) boats and other motorized toys. I only saw the one te300 though several others. I didn't ask if they had more.
I rode it Sunday and WOW what a bike! I felt at home on it right away, but suspension was a little harsh for the first several miles, but is breaking in nicely now. Rear is now very good and forks also pretty good, but a bit harsh for the first few inches. ( I weigh about 180 plus gear). Big hits on whoops are soaked up nicely on both ends. I was told the fork works best with the comp clicker out (soft) all the way, so will try it this weekend.
Good luck on finding your new bike, HR!
With all its 'issues' Washington state does allow us to plate offroad bikes if we get them into pretty much street legal configuration and have them inspected by a state certified shop. Then you have to re-title it (tax $$) and MUST maintain both plates(tax $$) AND off road tags(tax $$) or loose the plate.
Each year you renew your license plate tabs and your ORV tabs. (tax $$)
But I have a plate on my CRF-250x and anything else I want to (TE300 or ???).
I used to have a CR500AFX that was CA plated but it got stolen. I purchased a 2016 Husqvarna TE300 and trying to figure a way to plate my bike in any state.

Looked and emailed dealers today on prices for the 300
$700-$900 "setup and prep" on top of full MSRP and full doc fees etc
When I asked so for the prep fee I won't have to lube the bearings and go through things for set up etc, no answer each time and magically another customer just showed up and they had to leave.
LOL
So how is MS in Southern Cal to deal with
I'm in western washington, no issues shipping a bike here.....
Thoughts anyone?
Thanx!!

I bought my Husky from MS in riverside and things have changed since then. They have obviously gone a little insane. They had a leftover 13TXC 250 sitting next to a new 15 FE350s for $8750 before tax and license! The FE was $11, 257 before tax and license.
I was amazed that a 2 year old left over husky was the same price as new YZ250fx! They must think people are dumb enough to think they can get away with crap like that. The salesman I asked about throwing my leg over the YZfx had no idea it was any different from a standard YZ.
Walked out shaking my head...sad
