  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te250 v 310 my story
What's the best road legal supermoto I asked a few years back on the forum? A week later I had a 07 510 smr. Wheelies stoppies yipee did some racing awsum. Got a wr 250 for Enduro racing and a te 510 for green laneing which led to Enduro practice tracks and onto racing.
The last year my dream bike would be the te 310. I got to ride one that was bogging at low revs :-(. Then I got to ride a te 250 and a 310 back to back on a mx track. Tbh I preferred the 250 it seemed smoother and more balanced over the jumps however my head said 310 more power. Mean while I was getting pretty slick on the 05 510 and actually raced and did well.
I was made an offer I couldn't refuse. Drove 2 hours to pick up my new 2012 te 250 got home down the fields 20 minutes later won't start. starter wasn't engaging wouldn't kick start or bump start. All on a Friday. Sat drove the 2 hours back woodruff key had broke. No time for Sussy set up or anything else i spent Sunday at a hard core Enduro track not fast but relentless tight turned and steep climbs. first impressions were not so good after riding the 510 for year. No grunt low down needed revs. Was very different. I and the bike were getting better as the day went on though.
I was asked to test a 2012 te 310 as the owner was not getting on with it. Whey hey it was a dry day and I absolutely loved it. Yea man. It was my 510 but lighter. Aggressive engine breaking wheelies out of corners loved it. I lapped much faster than on my 250. I got back to the pits to report to the owner. 'I want your bike'. He took my 250 out and returned 'I want your bike' it's perfect so smooth just what I want. Buy this time both bikes had done 6 hours so on sat we have agreed to swap bikes.
Done I now own a te 310 2012. Going for a ride in about an hour. Got a lot of track time this weekend as im in training for the famous 12 h dawn till dusk on the 25th

Interesting story, seems there's just enough difference for there to be a preference for either the 250/310 depending on your use and style.

Glad you and your buddy came to the same yet apposing opinions:thumbsup:

I think the te250 is better for newer riders. I met a few 310 riders that I think would be more confident on a 250. Allot of peeps recommended the 250 saying ‘faster round corners you can get the power down quicker! I’m 210lbs and it pulled me around’

I got a great deal on the 250 and things have worked out real well. For £600 I could have put a 310 barrel on!

I love the 310. Not surprising after spending allot of track time on my 510. It feels very similar and yet so light and flick able.

I feel more connected and in tune with a 4stroke bike.

I like the ‘little throttle’ big response feel. I’m looking forward to future adventures!

DOWNSIDE- ive only spent a few hours on each bike and don’t have allot of confidence in the starter motor or kick starting the bikes.

Horses for courses really, both live up to their design specs particularly well. That said wish the 310 were a 350.

Yep there’s a huge difference between the 310 and the 250

Unbelievable difference

Very impressed with the 310

It’s like my old 510 but so much lighter

Wheelies off the throttle 1 2 3rd no probs

Yep loving it proper good all rounder

Dawn till dusk

What a bad start! Well actually a very good start!? From a lemans start I was up front I took the first hard route over a medium log wheeled high and came crashing down hard as usual! I was now a minute ahead of the pack which gave me a big smile :-) which didn't last for long! The bike began coughing and spluttering and stalling. Minutes later I was in no man’s land with a few hundred riders passing me. I pushed the bike to the marshal which was no mean feat. The fuel pipe had come away from the tank. Obviously not fitted properly and had been knocked loose while going over the log. Kind of good news fixed pipe back on and off I went to only stop again! Another long walk! Durr no fuel tank empty. Kin'l. Funny that! I was wondering why the fuel light was on!!!

The 2012 husqvarna te310 performed flawlessly and didn’t miss a beat simply awsume! Luved it.

The dawn till dusk is an extreme enduro and was just that, quite insane really.

After a very eventful morning things ran allot better in the afternoon. Started 7am came in 7.30pm
