  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE250 to a TE310

Has anyone ever upgraded the TE250 to a TE310? What would need to change? Just the top end and piston? What about the ECU?

What year?

There was a 'kit' upgrade a few years ago, but the current models dont really have an upgrade path

I got a 2010 TE 250 and was looking extensively upgrading to a 310. But for some reason there are no such kits, I think it has to do with the FI among other things.

But I do believe prior years it's possible, 2009 and on down.

when I got my te 250 12 the dealer said its easy to convert to a 310. just barrel and a piston!
that's what he said!

On my 2010 txc250 i had to change the crank, piston, cylinder, head bolts, cam chain, cam chain guides, oil line and bore the cases to make it a 310.

Sounds expensive has the change worked out for you.

I needed to replace most of the parts anyway so to make it a 310 wasn't much more.
The 310 was worth it.

Yeah was a bit disappointed when found out that have to change so much to turn into 310,but at least know it's possible. The 2010 is much the same as the 2011 in the motor ???. Thanks joedirt for some good news in the years to come with my te250.

Is there not an Athena Big Bore kit for the later models? I've seen them for my '07 and am seriously thinking about coughing up the $800 for one. A top-of-the-line Rekluse would cost about the same but I'm not real big on Rekluses and the added torque would help make one less necessary.
