    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hello everyone,

I took the plunge and ordered a ’10 TE250. I should be receiving it in a few weeks. The wait is killing me.

On this excellent website, I found the recall for the waterpump shaft but now wonder if there other issues I should know before I take delivery at least 200Km away from my place: I want to prepare a checklist even though I am confident that the dealer is knowledgeable: he offered me to spend all the time required in his shop to uncrate the bike, set the sag, tune the engine for best performance using Ibeat, install accessories, etc.

I owned many bike from many manufacturers and none of them are perfect out of the crate. Huskies are new to me. Other than the waterpump shaft recall, what are “must check or must fix items”? For example, should I repack the suspension linkage with quality grease (my KDX had virtually none at delivery time!)

Oh yeah: Thank you BMW/Husky and Barrett Marketing Group for the trouble and investments towards the homologation of the TE series in Canada. Finally! (Husaberg: Hint Hint!)

Thanks to motology/Adam and motosportz/ride for the reviews and opinions. It is always interesting to watch your videos and read your reports You made it such that I could not wait for the street legal Bergs.

No. Jacques is a great guy but unfortunatly 5 hours away. I'm sure I will be sending some business his way after a few group rides!

"Must check or fix before I ride" Checklist:

1- Waterpump shaft
2- Seal the odometer/computer

6 - Loc-tite the sproket bolts
7 - Zip-ty the 2 clips that hold your brake shoes in on both calipers
8 - replace the crossover hose between the 2 radiators with fuel line
9 - While you have the tank off, make sure no hose clamps rub the inside of the tank as they will surely wear through the plastic.
10 - make sure the rear break line where it makes the loop isn't rubbing against the engine case as it will wear a groove - loosen and spin it a little to get clearance.
11 - make sure the seat isn't resting on the battery - add rubber spacing on top of the frame crossover so the seat rests on it...(you'll have to look through the grab-handle holes to see if the seat is resting on the frame or not)
12 - Make sure your rear shock linkage is greased properly.
13 - Make sure your radiator recovery tank has fluid in it to keep it from melting in the event some hot coolant is pushed into it.
