  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can anyone tell me if upgrading the Injector and ECU unit on a 2011 Husky TE250 will make a big difference in performance?
Thank you.

We've had some very positive feedback both from an Expert class racer and from someone riding more extreme going. Both say it transforms the bike in the low to mid range particularly.

I just got a 2011 TE 250 and I have the JD fuel jetting kit on the way. I love the bike the way it is and it is not even broken in yet. Can only get better.

Yes its great in low/mid but sucks bigtime in mid to topp no power at all:eek:

crille74...... are you referring to the JD jetting EFI? I've heard mostly good and have one on order. Hmmm?

Where did you order it from? What is the part number? Can it being installed by the average person, or does it take some skill to tune it?
Thank you.

I got a JD "Jetting kit" . Part # JDHQX02-EFI. I got it thru my dealer. I'm awaiting delivery. I want to run the bike in before I install it.

I just talked to my shop about that and his opinion was that to wait for the next generation JD tuner to come out. It would be more simplified and the current one is overkill, just an opinion of course. I find it odd that a shop would not push products to sell but seems to be the case. Ill be getting a pipe and proper map for it when I bring it in for first service, valve adjustment etc.

Our experience and feedback is very different to what you're reporting...

What pipe are you running the kit with? Any other intake/exhaust changes?

Dave

Yes please.. more info. If there is something better coming I will send it back when it comes. It sounded like a no brainer from some of the other posts on this forum. I actually think the bike is great right out of the crate and I have not even broken her in all the way..

run Leo exhaust, my sweden dealer think i got a box that has wrong map in it.

It runs great with the old pu kitt, a little on/off on the bottom, accept for that it runs great.

I've had sight of dyno charts recently on bikes with the kit in and both power and torque are nice strong curves, certainly nothing in the shape of the curve that would suggest the bike would feel as you report. A corrupted or wrong map could cause the problem as your dealer suggests - once you get a new ECU let us know if the bike works properly!

I have the 11 250 as well and love it in stock- powered up, de restricted and ibeat tuned condition. This JD kit is still on my mind though so let me know how it works out for you!

The JD kit came today. I think I am going to wait until the motor is fully broken in until I install it so I can more accurately tell the difference.
Does this make sense of should I just go ahead and put it on now. Bike has about 6 hours or 70 miles on it.

The new ecu is the same shit:eek: but vi did get it to run better, the new is very lean on mid to topp, we change the co2 to105 and co3 to106 and that made a big difference, but not as great as the old pu kitt, so the new ecu its going back to Italy:rolleyes:
The Husky pepole has tested my bike before and after and they wery whondering what the fault is.
I am so disapointed, i had big hops on the new ecu.
