• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 630 to be replaced ?

paintman

Husqvarna
C Class
I tried to order some lower footpegs from Touratech today, but was told no more stock would be arriving for the 630 as it is being replaced with a BMW engined replacement next year.:(

Interesting rumor
Will we get the 650 (652cc) or the 650 (798cc) Beamerized, BRP-Rotax Motor?

I guess it remain to be seen what kind of extra power the Husky engineers can squeeze out of the 798cc engine in the new Nuda 900, to get any indication of what they’ll be able to do with the 652cc engine
I’ve heard that KTM are rounding it up to 700cc so I think that’s the direction BMW will steer us

Too early to put a frowny face on it
I would say Touratech is jumping the gun and will lose revenue for this...silly move on their part

That is odd because they told me they never have sold lower footpegs for the 630 but do offer pivot pegs. What is the part number that you asked for?

Part No 410-0460 from the 2011 book, but sadly will not be manufactured now, will have to try to get something fabricated I guess.

The 630 pegs are in the Husky `Special Parts´ list. I was thinking of replacing mine ... but then I touched my present pegs on the tarmac and decided that lower pegs might not be such a good idea.

No one here has heard anything about re-placing the 630. Think it might be the Husaberg SUMO. Husaberg have announced that´s going out of production due to lack of sales.

With the beemer engines starting to appear in Husky's it is only a matter of time before there is a TE630 replacement with a BMW engine in it. If the engine is as smooth as the 449's & 511's with the BMW reliability and has the same power as the 630 then I say bring it on.

Fortunately for us BMW is spending a lot of money on R&D to try and bring us what I would hope would be a pretty amazing d/s bike. If it means that I have to sell my bike in a year or 2 and upgrade then so be it!

I assumed the reason for the deep discounts on the 630's was because BMW was going to replace them. :excuseme:
Then the discounts would also be prevalent in OZ and Europe and I have only heard the discounts are here in the USA.

Yeah, well that's all fine and good but I'm not too happy about BMW releasing a bike for one damned year and killing ALL aftermarket support. X-Challenge anyone?

Touratech says some unverified rumor about the 630 being replaced and everybody goes crazy  I think they either mixed something up with Husaberg, who won't build supermotos any more or someone thought the Nuda would be a replacement for a supermoto

I bet it is here to stay for a while. Why revamp a bike and them kill it? 610/630 have notoriously been factory rebated this time of year. Grab the deal while it is hot, wish I could afford to.

I believe Touratech were recently appointed as a Husqvarna dealer, so I imagine they have an insight into whats scheduled, as for rumour just try and place an order
for some pannier rails, handlebar risers, or lower footpegs.

I have found someone to make me some footpeg dropper plates, pannier frames may be a tad harder:(

Zupin, the import agent for Germany tell me that all special parts etc. are readily available and that they hadn´t heard anything of the sort. The Nuda is aimed at an entirely different market. The 630 is here to stay. Basta!

I was on the phone with Wolfman Luggage yesterday and was told they are working on a rack for the 630. I was calling on another matter so I didn't ask if it was the saddle bag supports or a regular top rack, but they are working on aftermarket for the mighty 630.
