  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 450 kickstand?

BiG DoM

Husqvarna
AA Class
Just bought a '06 TE450 to compliment my 610. :p It does not have a kickstand - options please? Do all the 450's have the same welded tubular sidestand or did later model have the cast alu one and if so will it fit '06. (The tubular steel one on the 610 is a weak point)

Any other pointers in terms of this bike appreciated - only heard good things.

My 04 has an aftermarket kickstand. Made my AXO i believe. I don't think the 06 frame is any different. My 04 has two little tabs that the kickstand mounting plate fastens to. So it's a direct bolt on mod.

That's interesting, I've looked for a replacement for my 05. Anymore information on the one you found would be apreciiated.

I'll go home and take a pic of it for you. It's definitely a direct bolt up. The actual tabs that are on the frame to mount it are there from the factory. It kicks up and out of the way very nicely and much higher than stock. My only complaint is that it doesn't stay down without the weight of the bike on it. Meaning it retracts on it's own as soon as you center the bike. Good from a performance point of view. Bad if you want to work on it or move it around with your hands full, as you have to push it down manually and hold it there until the weight of the bike will keep it in place. It's designed this way.

That would be good Soviet and it is an AXO?

Ya know, I'm beginning to think the person i bought it from put a sticker on it. I have no idea what it is. It has an EVS sticker on it. I can't find any info on any type of EVS kickstand. I did however look on the husky parts diagrams, and you can get an OEM kickstand for the bike. It's a direct bolt up unit. I haven't seen any weak spots on my kick stand if it is an OEM unit. It's works perfectly fine. I did however ream the mounting holes and tapped them to accept larger bolts. Used some lock tight and voila. If you're still interested I'll get some pics for you and perhaps we can deduce what I have.
