  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te 310 2011 Starter Problems Again.

Husqvarna
Hi everybody.
I have got the TE310 2011 and been having some issues with the starter. Sometimes stars with no issues, however, most of the time if it does not start with the first pressing the button, the starter does not engage anymore, just makes a click sound. I need to move the kick starter a little bit and the starter start engaging again. The starter gears have been replaced, the battery is brand new.
The bike is with a rekluse clutch if does make any difference to these issues.
Any idea what the problem might be?

I have the same problem with mine (normal clutch), I asked Azzalin (ch racing) about it and he told me that it's a known issue on the 310 and there isn't really a solution other than using the kick starter to "reset it".
In general he told me to try and use the electric start as rarely as possible since it's not really the most reliable thing ever on those models and may fail without warning.

The starter relay can get degraded over time. The contacts get a lot of arcing and develop resistance. A quick way to isolate the starter relay is to use a jump start cable across the large terminals to test the circuit. If the starter spins when the relay is jumped then the problem is the relay. If the starter does not engage or move when the relay is jumpered, then the starter motor needs servicing or replacing.
