  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 310 '12 forks height settings

Hi all,
I am new to Husky bikes and in this forum. Just bought 2012 TE 310. I have made almost all settings but can't find a piece of info what is the factory height for froks (which groove from the top or mm from the top). Could anybody share what comes with a brand new bike? There is nothing about it in the service or user manual.

I would appreciate any hint in this. Thanks in advance

Thank you Grnghst! Every input counts :). I can see that TXC and TC have different fork (at least inside, closed-cartrige) than TE but whether it makes a difference for the positioning it is hard to say. How many grooves do you have?

Mostly set up at the top ring mark. Gives greater ground clearance and a slightly longer wheel base for straight line stability. Ff you are shorter in the legs, or find the bike a bit skittish up front dropping it down one line will alter the centre of gravity forward giving a tad more front end bight. It will also improve directional change if you are a single trail (tight) demon with a slight and corresponding reduction in straight line stability. Best bet have a muck araond and find out what suits you best.

Thanks. I know how it works but just curious where the factory started from. They gave all "zero" settings for TE like rear preload, dumping, etc. except this one. Eg. from 2014 with WP they say 2-nd groove. I think it's missed it in manual by mistake. I have 3 ring marks and start testing on middle and then will go to upper one.

I don't know if this helps you (I thought '12s had KYB??) but my Italian '14 KYB forks are still at the same place as your first photo, from the factory (here's a pic of it getting un-crated in 2014)

Thanks a lot for input, that's very interesting. Yes, '12 has KYB. Looks like my '12 position was also factory.
I have mentioned WP from 2014 because if i opened the download and put 2014/Enduro/Europe it in fact shows Husabergs. But anyway they give settings for legs positioning :).

I just measured my TE310 2012. I bought it new and never changed the fork height. I measured 12mm of exposed black fork tube between the silver top fork cap and the clamp. Here is a photo.

2014 isn't WP, it's still KYB, although it is the twin chamber type.
My son has a 2014 TE250R

I assume he was looking at the '14 ktm-huskys (eg tc250 2-stroke, FCs, FEs) or something similar.

hey, didja solve that problem with your son's bike (rough cold idle & a flat spot when warm)?

I measured my KYBs on my '14 te310r and got 15mm of black fork tube above the triple clamp (and 17mm to the top of the fork cap)

Set the shock sag 1st (to about 105/110mm), Then set the fork height so it will turn without tucking under or headshaking at speed.

Mine are around the 1st line showing.

Looks about the same as my 2011 TE310 tube height. I got 11mm from the clamp to the top of the "fork tube"
