• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC TE 300 street tagged, set up, and rockin

looking forward to a riding report on the RB mod carb on the '17.

After much tinkering, I am actually very happy with the Mikuni at this point. Never thought Id say that, but really feel its dialed now, and had zero cantankerous issues sneaking out of it during yesterdays ride.

I'm on a TX300 with a lectron I had on my WR300. It took me forever to get the suspension dialed, but as soon as I stopped relying on other people to help with sag and got a digital sag scale it all came together. I'm really liking the lectron on this bike, too. It's electric smooth. Great for the slow speed technical riding I do.

Bolted on the S3 head that I got from Slavens about a month ago. Didnt really feel any big notable difference, maybe a little crisper. At the time, I was hurring and didnt take a BASE LINE compression reading.

This weekend in prep for Colorado, I bolted on the stock head, and then the HIGH elevation head (high comp insert in S3), and took readings at all three points. Very disappointing for a 250 dollar piece. I'll post pics in a second, but for the highest compression head insert to only put out 190 psi, it is just now starting to feel like all my previous 300's. In hind-sight I should have just milled the stock head, as I'll never put the low elevation S3 insert back in.

Bike currently has V-Force 4R reed/cage set up, so I dont believe Im losing any compression anywhere.

Stock Head = 155 psi
S3 Head w 0-6000' insert = 173 psi
S3 Head w 6000'-12000' insert = 190 psi

pics coming
