• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te 300 - Petrol issues

Husqvarna
Hi, I've recently purchased a Husqvarna Te 300 2014 and I have had the bike for approximately 2 months. I've noticed that I run out of fuel quicker than any of my other friends I go out with, but I have a bigger tank capacity than they do... (they ride a beta rr 2014) I was just wondering if this is a common fault with the te 300 and if there is anything I could do to resolve the problem? Thanks in advance and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Cai :)

Hi! and welcome

I am assuming if you have a 2 stroke that has the initials 'TE' then it was probably made in Austria.. (2014 was a transition year).

I'll move this over to Austrian 2st, if I am wrong, and I often am, hopefully someone will hit the Housekeeping button and let us know.

check your float height and set it at the minimum out of the box my TE300 got 12-15 MPG, the float height was stupid high. If I tipped the bike onto the kickstand it would leak from the vent/drain/overflow line

Cheers for the advice mate. I had my carb off last weekend because I had the same issue but worst, it would leak whilst it was ticking over so I reduced it and that stopped it. But to be honest with you, I don't really know what I am doing when it comes to adjusting the float height... any key tips on how you would usually do it?
Thanks again.

plagerized from KTM talk with this citation, with some editing to omit the setting for the older carbs, our Huskys have the latest Keihin.

"On the newer "flat top" carbs this measurement is 6.5 MM.
Now with the rather large mounting angle on KTM's I suggest that the final float measurements be from 1 to 2 MM more, i.e. 7.5 to 8.5 MM . Do not go more than this.

Use a depth gauge or vernier caliper if you have one but it may be easier to make a depth gauge out of plastic from a milk jug or compressed cardboard like from a juice or pizza box, etc.

Make sure the floats are parallel and that one float is not higher than the other. This sometimes happens if the floats are roughly handled or dropped."

Mine is @8mm its hard science to get it exact, of course the lower the number the higher the float height, out of the box mine was closer to 6mm.

Robertaccio, you couldn't tell me the minimum float level for a husquvarna te 300 2014? (standard jetting) I couldn't find it in my owners manual and struggling to find it on the internet...
