  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi All
I will be doing the 310 conversion on a 2006 Husky 250...i was looking forward to selling it..instead this will be the bike for my DIY technical learning machine...
so i would like to know while I am at it changing her to 310, what all things i can do at the same time...the valve check, see if the cyclinder is doing fine....
i burn oil so i need to look at the gaskets..etc..if someone who has done the deed and in process done some more overahaul....please advice....also i will be taking pictures while doing this....i know some members are close by for my SOS signal...but i would like to have input from all....
Thanks
Rudy

I had a chat with Eraldo, the owner of Fast by Ferracci, since i wanted to see how much the professional installment of the 310 kit would cost me, but he gave me the following price of a grand for their own developed 270cc kit installation with the cyclinder boring, dyno test, valve check etc.

And he said it would cost the same for installing 310 give or take...so i will go for a visit to his store and see whats the best he can do for me....but anyone here with their services.....

i am debating if the labor is $400 wether to do it myself and learn or just pay the bucks :excuseme:

For $400, I would definitely do it myself, but that's me...

Maybe someone that's already done it can chime in with their experience to help you make the decision.

It's a easy conversion. The motor stays in the bike on the 250. At least it did with '08 250. I was hesitant to do it myself, but so glad I did.

If your bike is burning oil it would be from the rings.

If you haven't bought the kit yet, get it from Motosportz. You will be happy.

Or most likely valve guide seals. Check those. And yes, do it yourself and learn, not real hard.
