  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

The akraprovic is a little strange with the corner and the heat shield at the place were you have to grip the motor with your legs.
Had someone also problems with the wide exhaust heating shield? Maybe it is because of my length I am a little longer than than average person. 1.93mtr

I'm 1.85M (6'1")and both my stock SS Leo Vince and my Ti Leo Vince (which definitely has no heat shield) get warm there. '14 TE310R

No, the space is the same and I'm not melting my boots or my OTB pants. OTOH, I see that your frame & protectors show some wear- you're gripping your bike more inboard than I do (and your method is correct; mine's a bit too loose).

FYI- your heat shield is missing a torx screw; with the tools out, maybe you were doing some maintenance.

also, let me know if my english is too idiomatic or I use too many acronyms and I'll translate.

The englisch is better then mine I think :-)
the torx was missing because I was measuring the clearance.
Yesterday I made some little changes with the heating shield. I have mount the shield with less clearance to the exhaust and changed the pipe mounting 3mm to the inside of the bike. Totally the heating shield is now overall 10mm more to the inside of the bike and is much better.
Otherwise I will ride without heating shield with a otb pants

wow- that looks much closer to the bike now; that should work fine.

you might consider using fiber washers under your shield to reduce the amount of heat conducted to it- although the majority of the heat it receives is radiated.
 
Yes that is a good Idee I will use those washers
Bike runs great with modified exhaust cilinderhead 14:1 Wosnner piston and GET ecu pro version. I ride only 102 octane race fuel. This mods really made the bike to a rocket :-)
