• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks John! I'm getting my track re-done within the next week or two, I'll post pics when it's done. Maybe we can do a Vet/Husky ride day at my place?

LOL at 51 I am old enough to be a "vet" but I am way to slow. I just got back into dirt bikes the past few years and man have things changed since the seventies! Mostly me I might add but boy is it FUN!

Well I'm back at it. I had to take a couple weeks off as I got hit with broncitis. Nasty stuff. If any of you have heard of Trevor Vines (former Yamaha factory freestyler) he runs a track called TV Land where I raced this past Sunday in the CRA series. There were 28 guys in 40+! After a terrible start I worked my way up to 3rd and was the only guy in my class airing out the big triple. Being off the bike way too long took affect as arm pump set in and I stalled the big Husky in a corner on the last lap letting too many guys pass me while trying to get it to lit. I ended up 11th first moto but was happy to run up front before my costly mistake. The second moto faired about as good as the first and I ended up 10th overall on the day.

Only eight guys in my class this past friday night but it was a battle! I was second off the line and battled with Jay (611) for the entire moto. I blew a corner and he snuck under me for the win. The next moto I holeshotted and left em! I had a 10 second lead by the last lap. Going around a 3rd gear rutted sweeper I changed lines only to catch the rear wheel on a kicker and she stopped dead in her tracks! Ughhh!! I tried in vane to get her fired back up. First I put it in nuetral, then reached down for the hot start. Kicked and kicked and kicked. There went Jay and two more guys while I was still kicking. I finally got it started and ended up 4th in the second moto. 2-4 for 3rd overall isn't too bad. This is the 2nd race in two weeks where I've stalled the bike in 3rd gear in a left hand corner. I need two things. A bar mounted hot start and an auto clutch! Maybe if I was in a little better shape and didn't get tired I wouldn't have made those costly mistakes. Oh well, still had a great time....can hardly wait for this weekend!

Dang stall..but still great results. My 07 450R did the stall thing I upped the idle and almost stoped the stalls. Husky hole shot I love it! Good luck this weekend.

Ive stalled my 450 SMR in a few dirt sections now, all I have to do is find neutral and the magic button tho :)
