  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TC 250 Exhaust - Options and Opinions

I wonder if the 2010 250 pipe has the megabomb type bulge in the header as shown on their homepage.

In my opinion one of the best options: Akrapovic

I have it on my bike, it has pretty good power.

Stefan where do you feel the gains the most? Do you have and dyno results with the Akrapovic? Thanks, John

Stefan, I don't see the exhaust on their website, yet from your pic, its obvious there is an Akrapovic that fits the 2010. Can you please explain?

Sorry for the late answer.

We didn't compare the stock exhaust to the akra on the dyno, sorry. We only dyno-tested the bike with the already installed akra.

But I think the Akra feels stronger then the stock TC exhaust all the range, especially on top. It is also much quiter (we have a 94 db-rule).

I also don't know exactly why there's nothing for the newer Husky's on the Akropovic website. I only heared there are some restrictions for selling, but I dont' know the background.

Sorry for my poor english.

Regards Stefan

Hey don't worry about poor english, I live here and struggle with it LOL. So what was the dyno results after the Akra install? Thanks, John

Yes very interesting Stefan!!! I find it very strange they don't have the Husky system on their website, any more info would be greatly appriciated!!

I'd also love to know how the sound level of the long Devil is to the stock TXC/TE muffler.

Also, how well does the Devil or Akropovic work with stock EFI settings on the TE and TXC.

The TC250 responds well to exhausts it seems.

Attached dyno chart shows standard bike (blue line), std bike with DEP silencer (green line) and the full arrow system (red line).

The standard silencer is quiet but it appears it is responsible for the power tailing off early compared to the aftermarket options.

DEP is a UK based exhaust system manufacturer in case you don't know them overseas.

Thanks for the dyno chart but it's hard to make out the exact gains. It looks like the complete exhaust picks up 3 hp is that correct? Thanks, John

Are you referring to the full Arrow exhaust as the full system that is available in the 2010 Hard Parts Catalogue? I was curious if that would be a good system. So does that mean you actually received one already, they are actually available through Husky? Thanks!

Blake

Compared to the peak power of standard bike the Arrow system is worth approx 3 bhp extra and as you can see the power hangs on for much longer.

And yes it is the full Arrow system from the Special Parts catalogue, as far a I'm aware they are on stock in Italy.

Do you know if the Full Leovince exhaust is available as well? Part number 8000H2465.

We have one in stock, factory not showing any currently but they probably have more on the way...

Do you have any numbers hp/tq on the Leo system? I don't care about meeting sound as much just want the most power. Thanks, John

Fitted a HGS pipe this afternoon on the TC250, 2010, I have a home build dyno, the power gain is incredible, I went from 33.5hp to 37.5, this pipe is good, lots more power on top, only had to change the MJ to 190, bike is very quiet, it should not break any noise regulations

Thanks for this info wally111 on the HGS. We don't have to meet any sound regs so does the system come with any removable inserts or it it that quiet stock? Do you feel any pick in the mid range or just on top?

No inserts, just quiet, Has more power from the word go all the way to the top.
At least 2 hp more up to 9000rpm and than 4 more all the way to the end, makes good pipe for experienced MX rider.

I also agree!! The HGS is awesome!! I have just made a couple of vids where you can hear both the HGS and the Devil systems and will post them to Youtube, link coming soon!!

Thanks guys that is the one he will be getting unless some very quickly comes out with something better. I stayed on hold yesterday for over twenty minutes with Pro Circuit waiting on them to let me if/when they will be putting out a pipe. They never picked back up! So it looks like HGS. Hey herpindo do you feel the HGS puts out more power than the Devil? Ok... now get that vid up., Thanks.
