  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TC 250 Exhaust - Options and Opinions

mxer74

Husqvarna
AA Class
Just thought we would start an exhaust specific thread for the TC 250. With all the talk about how much an aftermarket exhaust can do for this bike, I figured we should have all this info in one area. Chime in with comments, questions, experience, etc.

Pro Circuit: Suppose to be in the works and available around the first of the year. Making FULL SYSTEM and I would guess it will be Titanium

Jadine: Soon to be available. Making FULL SYSTEM but in ONLY Stainless/Aluminum. Heap pipe has the expansion/deadening chamber (Akropovic like).

Devil: Currently available in Ti/Carbon model. Making FULL SYSTEM. Head pipe has the expansion/deadening chamber (Akropovic like).

Leo Vince: Currently available in Ti/Carbon model. Making FULL SYSTEM.

FMF: Currently availabe but ONLY as Slip-on. No near future plans to produce full systems. Available in Ti or Aluminum.

Husky Hard Parts (Arrow): Currently available through the 2010 Hard Parts Catalogue. Making FULL system with Ti and Carbon end cap. Head pipe has the expansion/deadening chamber (Akropovic like).

This is just me rambling on and information I have found out from reading on the Internet and several phone calls to different companies. My only thing with looking for an exhaust is I REALLY don't want to replace my full Ti Arrow exhaust system that comes stock with something that is going to be heavier......even if it does make more power. Post any comments or especially any other information you may have regarding TC 250 exhausts. Thanks!

Just wanted to add what I just found out. Devil Exhaust systems offer 3 different length mufflers for their systems. The system shown on their website is the longest one available (at 420mm), but a 390 and a 360 mm muffler is available. Thought I would share that. The person I spoke to said that even though the mufflers look big and maybe heavy, you would be surprised at how light it actually is. When they said a FULL Ti system, that is what they mean - all internals and everything is Titanium and not just an out coating. Thought I would share the info!

Thanks for sharing Blake. Now somebody try one, dyno before, after, and give us the results. Wouldn't that be nice?

This is my assumption but could be way wrong. I would guess the reasoning behind different length mufflers is simply different tuning options. The shorter the muffler the more top-end it will produce and vice-versa, the longer the more torque rather than top end. With that in mind, then you must consider that the shorter the muffler the louder it is. SO, you take the shorter muffler for more top end but then you're really loud THEN to tame sound the sound down you insert a DB killer which then effects performance. I don't know, it's all tit for tat. Just my opinion.

I believe you are right. It is more for where you want the power.

Just to clear up a few questions for some. Our long silencers tend to have better top end and over rev than our short silencers. The short silencers tend to have a little more response & noise vs long silencers. This is what we have seen with our products. other mfg's have there own results.

Now to the short vs long question that I am sure will be asked. The advantage to a short silencer is less weight (silencer body, packing, core , etc) however if you must meet a specific DB level you end up putting a DB killer in the silencer. This tends to hurt the performance a little vs no db killer. Now if you run a longer silencer without a db killer you have a performance advantage and can still meet the sound level vs short silencer with db killer. Down side is a little more weight from a longer silencer.

Hope that helps

Awesome to see you on are the forum! Thanks for the helpful information ( even though it showed how dumb I really am when it comes to exhausts.....haha ). Look forward to learning from your expertise. Welcome!

Dont even think that at all! You said clearly "This is my assumption but could be way wrong" so not problem! The people who speak as if they are god are who you look out for:thumbsup:

Devil Exhaust

So does a Devil exhaust system wiegh more or less than a stock Arrow exhuast?

Does Devil offer a Spark Arrestor tip?

Thanks, TW

Hi Devil exhaust!

Just two questions.

Are you selling the 6 days option?
Does this system helps to increase the Bottom end power?

Another Option I found is HGS makes a system for the 2010 TC 250. I contacted BenVanErp and they have it available and claim of at least 15% increase in power. There is a picture of it on there web site as well.

I have no idea but being from Europe I wonder if it has to be 94db or what. I wrote back to them to see what kind of material it is made of, forgot to ask on the decibel. HGS did some really good stuff for Husky two strokes. Has anyone checked on the FMF Ti 4 lately?

I went to the link but couldn't find anything other than Honda products or even a US dealer. So will they have anything for the US market and the 2010 TC250? Thanks, John. I am stupid I went back and could scroll down and found Husky exhaust but still couldn't find anything on the 2010 TC250.
