  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

TC 250 Carb - Odd Sound.....

Hey guys,
Just curious if anyone else is having this same issue with their 2010 TC 250's? At high RPMs and only at high RPMs, the bike makes a fluttering/whispering sound........anyone elses do this? The bike runs and sounds awesome low to mid. Honestly, the power even feels good up top BUT just sounds bad. I just hate it because I know people get the assumption that it's a bad motor/bike, but my results definitely prove that wrong. We have tried a million different jetting settings with no luck so maybe it's not even carb related. I ride my buddies 2010 TXC 250 and it does NOT make this sound. I'm about to the point of just dealing with the noise because I am happy with the performance BUT I would just as soon have everyone who hears it feel the same way. Thoughts.....?????? Thanks!

Blake my 2010 TC makes some funny noises when holding it wide open i would say kinda its gasping for air with a flutter sound not sure if thats what you hear but im asuming its normal as ive had no power or jetting problems.
 
Ours kinda makes little whispy, squeaky, poppy noises at idle. You can really tell when the seat is off and you hold your head close to the filter. Haven't really heard anything at WOT and Cody hasn't complained about any WOT noises.
 
I have not had that noise come out of it yet but I have blown a head gasket (my fault) I reinstalled the head an I believe I fouled it up. pressurized the crak case and blew almost all the oil out the valve cover breather. Other than that nothing
