  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any differences between these bikes 2009 to 2010 ?
I can get either of these at a similar price - 2009 one has been rebuilt - why I dont know .

Does changing the spark plug heat range help the hot start issue on these bikes? Ive heard that this may help.

Big difference if I am understanding the question.
2010 has the x-light motor for one, also has KYB forks, not sure about frame geometry. 2010 has a reputation to be much lighter and nimble.

I had ridden a low mileage(after break in) 2009 TC250 and even lower mileage 2010 TC 250 before buying the 2010.The 2009 is a good bike...needs a little tweaking, but if your trail riding,it's fine ....But my '10 TC is better in a lot of aspects...lighter,suspension gets even better with time ,makes for a great woods bike(with gearing change) and motos great as well. I am an old fart, but this bike makes me "comfortably" faster. In moto I was a little slower then most '12 model bikes on the track BUT after changing to a full Akropovic exhaust I was able to stay with the pack...big investment but well worth the money for me.If you need to save money or money is a problem and the bike is being used for trail, the 09 is ok. I still think I can hang with the young'uns(gotta at least try) so I opted for newer 2010.Of course now the 2012 is coming stock with the Akro and is suppose to be even better....I can live with that ,my Husky has lots of life left and I'm gonna keep her for awhile!
