  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tanks options for 08-09 models your feedback req.

I would like at least 20 liters out here in the outback, its a long way before drinks. I would like the tank to include shrouds and to be able to use the original seat.

08 TE510

If we're dreamin here... 3-4 gallons (you don't have to fill it if you aren't going to need it), room for damper, compatible with shrouds. That's it!

Ohhh, all this teasing !! I put a IMS tank on my '09 TE 510 and still have to carry gas on my fun day trips (175 to 250 kms). If you are going to do it, DO IT. Make it 3+ Gallons or min 12 litres, but 15++ litres would be even better. You guys don't have to fill it if you don't want to.

I had a Clarke tank on my DRZ that gave me 400 kms a couple of times, but I have to carry an extra 5 litres in my pack to make it 240 kms -- whatever!

The taller look up front is fine, as wider and lower. I don't care how high my filler is if I can get in extra fuel.

I agree with the comments that if you build it they will buy it and if anyone from Husky HQ is reading any of these posts PLEASE pass the word on to someone back there on the design team that some people do use their Husky's for more than ratting around and stopping to refill every 75 kms! Come on guys..... We RIDE EM.

Thanks, looking foward to something even bigger than I have now! Bykwiz.
