• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

SWM-IT Husky parts cross over list.

Just an update......might be the same sprocket as Aprilia 450 / 550. Jt sprockets p/n jtf707.
I'll do some more homework and get back to you.

Righto. Did some measuring this morning.

Swm countershaft : 25mm OD, 21.5mm Core dia.
Swm sprocket has a core dia of 22mm, width 11mm.
(These dimensions are actual measurements not specs)

JT give the dimensions of the aprilia sprocket as 25mm x 22.2mm x 10.9mm.

What do we think, crossover or not?

Ps I will be contacting my swm dealer tomorrow regarding price, options and availability.
 
Both Renthal and Sunstar make CS sprocket for your 165, much better quality than JT.
FYI: Renthal part # 307-520-13GP (13 tooth) fits Italian CR/WR 125 back to 1998.

Went to my local Aprilia dealer today and checked out an rxv 450 / 550 front sprocket.....certainly looked the same as the original swm. Bought it and fitted it. Seems to be a cross over item.

Apologise for the lead up posts clogging the thread......delete them if you'd like, call it house keeping. Lol.
 
For future reference the SWM engines are not based on the BMW era IT-Husky "Red Head", but on the prior 2010 era IT-Husky engines that Ampelio Macchi designed. Yes, the new SWMs have a "red head" valve cover just to keep the conversation going.

Hi, i'm considering buying a te250 or te310 for my girlfriend but concerned about parts availability. I see a lot of mention of sprockets and such. But what about hard parts like case covers FI parts, etc? Will any of the SWM parts work on these older 2011ish te's?
 
I believe the SWM parts are more compatabe with the older red head motors ie 2010 and earlier.
 
Hi All,

New to the site , so apologies in advance if I make a mistake, but here I go anyway.

The front sprocket mentioned earlier JTF707.14 is 14 tooth and 14 spline which fits the SWM RS330r (standard front sprocket is 13 tooth), but in conjunction with the standard 50 tooth rear sprocket increases top end speed but reduces torque, which is not what I wanted (I can confirm theJTF707.14 does fit, this is from the Aprilia MXV 450).

As I am doing another chain and sprocket change, and I have been doing more scouring of the web, these are the sprockets I am going to use this time:

Front sprocket: Manufacturer AFAM, part number: 37400-13 (13 tooth)

Rear sprocket: Manufacturer JT, part number: JTA822.50

If anyone is interested I can always let you know how this one goes.
