• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Swedish Flag Decal Placement

MotoFo

Husqvarna
AA Class
I'm having two tanks painted soon – a '74 250CR and a '82 430CR. I'm looking to see if anyone has any reference photos they could share that shows the relative placement of the flag decals.

Thanks,

Thanks,

3/4" to 1" centered.

You do know that there is two flags?

One top

One bottom

Based on years.

I've done quite few tanks and they are centered back 3/4 to 1 inch.

Guess it how they eyeballed it that day.

I have also seen them crooked some.

I have the lower left, flag for the '74 and the upper, right flag for the '82.

I assume you mean 3/4 to 1 inch centered back from where the top plane of the tank begins (?)

dartppyt, I've been thoroughly enjoying your restoration builds. I certaintly don't have the skill nor shop you have but, nonetheless, I'm almost at the point of beginning the build on my 1982 430CR and plan to document on the restoration projects page.

Yes you measure tank from top center back 3/4 to 1 inch. That means weld as well.
I use a piece of blue painters tape for line up. Stick it on your shirt or pants so some lint gets on tape so not as sticky.
Then you can use a pen to mark your center. I kinda fold flag decal in a crease to find its center.
Then apply along tape edge and then you know you are aligned.
Thanx for comments! You got some nice bikes!
